One of the major issues for me is the lack of goals in this current side, take Haaland out of the equation and no one scores goals, very worrying.
We should have been 3 or 4 up before they scored. Just piss poor finishing which has been happening too much this seasonJust how do you go from dominating them in the first half to getting thrashed ? well it's called not taking your chances and having an absolutely terrible defensive structure, this has been coming all season, Pep surely has to sort it now, yes there are injuries but it's still unacceptable.
No idea but thats why get gets the big bucksUnlike who ?
The personnel isn't helping. Especially defence.Biggest concern for me is that Pep hasn't got a clue how to fix this
Love it how you only post when we lose.Feels like 16/17 all over again, pep has not been backed at all in the transfer window and it’s causing devastating consequences. People thought my criticism of the squad was hyperbole after the Bournemouth game, well unfortunately I’ve been proven correct.
The simple fact is despite having arguably the greatest manager of all time, our squad is so poor I do not believe we will get Top 4 this season unless we sign at least 2 players in the Jan transfer window.
Yep.Let's have a sensible discussion without some people calling people "Entitled" or "Fanny Wipes" or "Happy Clappers".
We played some of our best football for 35 minutes. Didn't put chances away. But, we give away the same goal every single game and it has nothing to do with individuals and everything to do with the style of football we play - which is not like pep's first season at all, where everyone was learning something new.
We push everyone into the last 3rd of the pitch and becuase they can pack the box with 7-8 players - they play the odds - leave 2 up, generally quick and hope we give the ball away. Even though we played good football, they still had the 2 best chances in the first half, and scored one of them. Its fucking suicidal football. Their 2nd goal was lovely, you can't argue with that, but that first goal was completely unnecessary if we play a different way.
We're more control based, and i actually think our players (who are fit) are not suited to this. Haaland thrives on through balls that never get played. Savinho (who was absolutely horrendous in that 2nd half - abominable selfish terrible) clearly likes to play fast. Nunes wants to play quick. Rico wants to play quick. Foden plays how he's told, so would play quick. And yet we play slow.
I don't get it, i don't get it at all.
He can ne frustrating at times, but if it weren't for his inhuman form at the start of the season I think we would be approaching a small crisis right now. If we create for him consistently he will have games like today, but mostly games where he scores at an absurd rate. He isn't the problem at all. No midfielder currently good enough to create anything except Foden in flashes, two talented wingers with no end product and a defence not handling to play a high-line is our problem now. And the sloooooow football that is so poor when we are out of rhytm. It is either gonna click into gear, or this is finally going to be the transitional season we have been waiting for where we see how imbalanced the squad is.The biggest passenger. And anyone who thinks Haaland deserves his place is kidding themselves.
Worst performer in a team of poor performances.
Perspective: We lose our first league game in 2024. We lost a league cup game that 99% of us would have written off given the injury situation, we lose a Champions League game in a new format that noone is used to that under the normal group stages we wouldn't have cared too much about.
Is this current form and legal stuff driving him away or not ? Would like to get his decision sooned rather than later, really hope he stays a season or 2 more .I actually think this will galvanise Pep and khaldoon.
Losing hurts and pep won’t be taking it lightly going forward. He has stayed too loyal at times.
Honest discussions needed.
Can we all stop throwing players and manager under the bus. This is football, we take the punches and get back up.
He's not exactly a Vinny or a Fernandinho is he. Players who earned respect from everyone.Walkers the captain but wouldn’t ask him to sort it, he’ll walk in the meeting with his chopper out windmilling
Absolutely abysmal. From a game we were coasting at 1-0 up to falling apart all over the place shows a lack of courage, heart and guts and that is worrying. While some injured players coming back might improve us I'm not so sure they'll improve us enough to challenge for any honours this season. Pep doesn't get a pass here either. Look, there is no doubt he's a fantastic coach but fuck me he has to have a plan B! We just cannot play this system without Rodri or anybody who can do even half the job he did.
He's getting paid the mega bucks to come up with a solution but so far he's just continuing to play the same way. We got away with it at first ....just, but fuck me we were playing Wolves, Fulham, Southampton and Brentford. Against a better team, Bournemouth away, we were lucky not to be on the end of a scoreline like tonight.
The next two games, Brighton and Spurs. Does anyone fancy us getting anything but two more drubbings? Maybe I'm overreacting as it's been a shit week but I'm not anticipating much from this season.
I’d hope soApparently the players and coaches are arguing now
"Nandos?"Apparently the players and coaches are arguing now
we live to fight another day. Onwards and upwards. :-) :-)
