I hate the twat but he knows how to work his audience, IE the joe rogan podcast 45m views, incredible and it was to his people, meanwhile Harris was Infront of a few thousand with Beyonce and none gave a crap.

Trump hates Elon Musk with a passion but he used the little weasel, again genius move.

They used the likes of Aidan Ross, Nelk Boys and Theo Von to reach out to younger voters too. The republicans adapt well. P Diddy case drops and the democrats wheel out Beyonce and J Lo it is brain-dead to internet culture and trends.

In some Democratic Party circles, the postmortem is already beginning despite a result not officially having been called yet.

One Democrat political operative in DC texts to say the party "needs to flush out elitist snobs in DC for a start".

Others have told me the same, albeit less bluntly - that while they praise the efforts of the campaign, they feel the party as a whole has an 'image problem' at a time when basic, everyday things like the cost of living are front of mind for most voters.

This Democrat despair brings to mind a conversation I had with a Republican at one Trump rally who said their candidate had completely "reimagined" the Republican party from its country club voter stereotype to appealing to working class families, while the Democrats had become the "party of Hollywood".

These are big generalisations, but ones Republicans publicly, and some Democrats privately, now share.

I'm afraid you can add immigration, abortion, LGBTQ and woke-ism to "elitism" as well. The country, incredibly, just doesn't seem to be ready.

Totally true,as soon as most of the people in the UK realise we are now a insignificant little island the better for everyone.
Especially the PL and its referees. IMO the low standard of officiating and the romanticism around historic footbsll clubs hark back to the good old days of English imperial supremacy. Except they only show that despite your fancy private schools and elitist toff culture and moronic loyalty to the Crown you are just an island off Europe ...with lofty ideals to be fair which should be applauded where they work great but addressed honestly where they don't.

I'll break it down very simply as someone from a swing state

American voters, time and time again, vote based on their pocketbooks

If they don't have enough money, they will ALWAYS blame the incumbent party whether it's their fault or not

Knock off a point or two for Kamala since she's a woman and there's your ballgame

Sad but true

Ashamed of my country and my state today. I have a lot of respect for the UK and I wish you had a better ally in us
Could be worse you could live in this shithole they call Britain

I’m surprised anyone is surprised. I was shocked when I posted here on Saturday and people thought Harris would win, I found out people were even betting money on it.

It’s hard having a discussion on here because so many are blinkered to reality, it doesn’t help that this place is an echo chamber for blinkered people reading the same drivel, but I said my piece on the US politics thread and I’ll leave you all to it.

I'm fucking shocked that Americans would vote in a convicted rapist who tried to overthrow the government and who's first tirm which was only a few years ago - was largely a shit show.

Yes..... Fuck me for being surprised.

The economy is doing fine in America yet they’re still led to believe the Democrats have ruined the economy, jobs etc
Same will happen here, there will be bumps in the economy as always but the rhetoric will be ramped up that Labour have destroyed this country and they will be out - Farage and Reform will have a big big chance and it would not suprise me if Musk throws his weight in for that to happen. Everything is off the table now.
I diisagree, our electorate are more educated generally than the yanks.

Musk nailing his colours to the Trump mast is concerning. He wants something and sees an opportunity, the AI and process automation he can introduce to the American economy is going to cause a slow car crash in the labour market and it seems world leaders are sleep walking into it. It won’t be immigrants taking jobs it will be our air fryers.

Lots of glib bullshit being posted, but I can tell you that every woman I know is aghast at the Handmaid’s Tale future they face, and it’s no joke to them. Women will die because of this. Expect an almost national abortion ban within the next year, with penalties for doctors, nurses and women up to and including life imprisonment.

As someone who flies overseas for a living, mainly to Europe, I’m fucking embarrassed to be associated with the tens of millions of uneducated and confused white males who elected this empty fuck.

Arguably the black and hispanic male vote that swung it, which is even worse.

What america does today we will do tomorrow.

Farage and Johnson must be thinking Christmas has come early.

We live in our own bubble of reality through social media.
