Injuries 2024/25 | Ake & Bobb return to training

Pep will go mental if Walker and Grealish declare themselves fit for England.

Rightly so!

Especially after he called out Stones recently on coming back from international duty injured.

He seems to have a bee in his bonnet when it comes to internationals too right now. He said about living after Stones got injured in a meaningless game, how players should 'remember' that it's the club that pay their wages and after sarcastically hinting that if Erling needs a rest then he has time during internationals to get one.

If Walker and Grealish - but especially Grealish - play any minutes for England after the recent woes for City then he'll be absolutely livid.

You don’t think he’s injury prone?
Obviously, though strictly this isn't an injury it's a condition that causes significant discomfort, and anyone can get it, i've never heard of a footballer having it before. My wife had 2 years of it, very dificult to get rid of.

My point about JS is that 30 isn't "old" and he should have at least 2 years at the highest level, hopeful they can quickly get to the bottom of.

Yes but think about it, if Jack can get for example half a game it might mean he comes back to us much reader to play. Same with Kyle actually

let them play with the reserves or EDS team then. Least we can control it better with medical team looking at it.

Only down side is if we pull them from the squad, isn't there a rule in place about a player playing for his club?
I have no idea about international football

We know Doku, Erling, Bernardo, Phil and Akanji will be flogged to death and play both games on International duty even if their respective countries are up against total dogshit nations. Pisses me off

I agree, but I think we underestimate how much these guys enjoy going off to play for their country. Change of scenery, see fellow countrymen, different manager etc etc. A nice break from the norm for them.

You are so fucking dramatic about everything , lol
So as a club under a severe injury crisis you would be happy for a player that has not be seen for the last 4 games to suddenly make a recovery and play for his country?

Nothing dramatic about what I said, it's just a siltation that is very, very strange.

If Grealish is back against Brighton and plays 90 minutes then there is no issue.

There are currently nine teams with more injuries than we have. I wouldn’t even describe five players out with a few only just coming back as severe.

It’s the quality of our squad that is making it seem worse than it is. We are used to not noticing a handful of players being out due to having a fairly low drop off in quality from our best players around the rest of the squad.

At one time, if Sterling, De Bruyne, Fernandinho, Otamendi and Kompany (like Bobb, Grealish, Rodri, Stones and Dias are out now) were out injured, we’d still have a starting line-up almost as good, if not as good, as if they were there.

Even players like Delph really stepped up to a high level of performance when Mendy got injured. Playing out of position, he was MOTM a few times in a season that no other team has ever reached, even banged in a couple of goals into the top corner. Now we’re excited that Nunes has worked hard and put a few good crosses in and hasn’t looked total shite like last season.

We are now seeing what more normal teams do.
