Thought he played well. Should have done better for their equaliser - tracking the run and being stronger to stop the shot coming in. But he was up against a brilliant and in form striker so a good test and lesson for him about where he needs to get to. Otherwise, two penalties he had nothing to do with. A baptism of fire, but I think he made some good tackles and interceptions, was composed on the ball and dealt with Gyokeres pretty well on the whole. Not easy to defend when you're so exposed.

Could have done better on the first goal, but hardly the only one culpable. Had a wobble after that but still did ok. Better than Lewis, Akanji and Gvardiol who were all varying degrees of shite.

Had high hopes for Dada-Mascoll as a DM but he's been plagued by injuries. Missed virtually all of last season & not been involved so far this season.
Dada-Mascoll is the one I also had an eye on as well. Seems like he didn’t escape the injuries especially during a growing phase. Same thing happened to Mbete when he was coming through but was never the same after.

Think he’s mustard. Has everything required to be an elite centre back.

His positioning is questionable at times but then when you have Roadrunner next to you jogging about then I bet is makes it difficult.

Excellent prospect: composure, skill on the ball, and the ability and confidence to distribute it short or long.

Considering the two games he’s played in as his CL and PL debuts, thrown in at the deep end with no fit Dias or Stones to play alongside to help him through the game, Simpson-Pusey has done well and has looked quite calm and composed on the ball on the whole, with a few expected hesitant and unsure moments for a lad on his debuts.

He can be happy with that. Played well. His calmness was notable, his passing was quite dodgy at times in the first half but fair fucks to him for carrying on, looked more comfortable as the game went on and held his own.

If I had to pick who from our defence was making their premier league debut and who has nearly 50 senior appearances based off the performances alone, I'd be getting him and Rico the wrong way around.

Good on him. Might find himself sticking around and getting minutes when we've a healthier squad as his inclusion might allow us to play a centre back like akanji at full back instead of Lewis or walker.

This reminds me of when Mancini threw Nastasic into the wild fixtures, and we all knew what the result would be.

The anti rodri. Poor guys lost every game so far. Sure he’s learned a hell of a lot though. Very bright future. Shame hes had to be thrown in at the deep end.
