Best City Football you've seen?

Man City 3-1 Barcelona 2016
The days we used to come from behind against mega-strong teams, we literally pushed that Barcelona side out of Etihad with our press in the second time. I miss that 4-3-3 .....and Pep in a suit!

Chelsea 0:1 Man City 2017
This is when Pep really started building the best team PL had ever seen until that moment. And the times we were letting teams having a fewer than five shot from counterattacks, even in away games, please let me see just another game like that.

Man City 2:1 Liverpool 2019
The best game in the history of the PL (my opinion!) and probably the peak of football quality two teams ever achieved in the PL (again my opinion, MU, Che, and Ars sides from early noughties compare like proper Chamionship hoofers to those two teams), even PL winning Liv side was not so strong. Goosebumps every time I see the game, or goals and remember that atmosphere. That feeling of desolation realizing it is never coming back, uhfffff......

Any side with Tueart, Barnes Hartford and Donnachie in it for me, there were times when that lot played the fiddle the world seemed to dance.

I know there's no Tueart in this but this was blood and thunder.

Loved that team! Watson like a rock at the back, big Joe in goal. Barnes was one of the most exciting City players I've seen when he was in full flow.

First half at Arsenal, a few days after we beat them in the League Cup final. Absolutely freezing, but City’s football in going 3 0 up by half time was just brilliant. Shame only about 10,000 Arsenal fans were there to see it.

What's weird is that the attendance given on here is over 58,000. That's clearly not possible. There are vast empty swathes on every side of the ground except our end.

Was working my way through to see if anyone posted this.

I think that was my first “holy shit we’ve actually got a great team” moment as a City Fan. Couldn’t believe what I was watching.
Ditto.
I too could not believe it.That 5-1 away win at Spurs had me dizzy with excitement. There was so much skill and technical ability in that team
Watching Silva Yaya and Nasri weave such tight, intricate, patterns around the spurs players was just magic and then Augero who sprinted twisted and turned in perfect harmony with the midfield dribbling with ,absolute control of the ball at his feet ,low centre of gravity, clearly loving being at the top of his game with fellow players on his level.awesome to watch.amd Dzeko ..basically..ran amok.grabbing 4 goals at a time when it wasn't even fashionable to score 4 in a game ; )

. Spuds never got a grip ,it was all City...and it flowed.

The promotion season under keegan was fantastic football.
Like we'd never seen before. It was literally raining goals.

I actually used to feel sorry for most visiting teams at Maine Road that season. The team sheet said it all. Bernarbia ,Berkovic, Goater ,Shaun Wright Phillips , Wanchope ....We coming at you....from all angles... with Non Stop Attacking Football !!!!

I remember one Sunday at Maine rd Burnley turned up ,top of the league
Loads of fans and noise...we put 5 past them, smashed them to bits.

another game at Maine rd one of our 1st choice strikers wasn't fit.
Keegan slotted Darren Huckerby in and he scored 6 !!
Like I say , sometimes, I felt sorry for the opposition that season; )

Well there is no answer other than that first half against Madrid. We haven't played like that before or since. Other moments might be close, being 4 up against United at half time a few years ago was nice but they are shite. That Madrid half was a proper schooling, against the champions of europe and the team that dumped us out the year before.
The thread should really be asking what's the 2nd best City football you've seen.

The first half against Madrid must be the high water mark, given the calibre of the opposition. Just stunningly good.

Over a full season: 17/18. Virtually non-stop brilliance. Best season played by any side in the history of the premier league. By a mile.

Honourable mentions:
Start of the title-winning season under Mancini
Start of the title-winning season under Pellegrini
All but the start of the season in the championship under Keegan

The performance against Madrid at the etihad was pretty much football perfection for me. To do it at that stage against the European darlings was just outstanding.

The 2-1 game v the dippers sticks in my head as two teams at their absolute peak going at it.

There were also a few games under Mancini when I finally sat in awe and thought we actually are one of the best sides now. The 6-1 at the swamp and before that the 5-1 at spurs when dzeko scored 4.

I'll chuck in a couple of lesser sick swans.
Burnley about fourteen or fifteen years ago when we were three up after about seven minutes, and at Carrow Road in 2012 when Tevez returned from the golf course and our title challenge was dead, or was it.
I was at both games (bloody early start for a lunchtime game in Norwich) and that emotional attachment helps me appreciate the performance.
4-0 v Madrid can't really be beaten given the quality of the opposition though.
The "raining goals" seasons under Keegan 2001-02 and Pellegrini 2013-14 were also great to watch.

Arsenal away 0-3
1 March 2018 midweek evening

freezing cold, half a crowd because of the winter storms in London and maybe because we’d just smashed them in the league cup final a few dats before.

you’ve all seen the tika taka goal from Sane but the football that first half was unreal

Also the 6-3 v United the first 70 mins absolutely demolished them with power and skill, a preview of what was to come v Bayern and Madrid and a different type of Pep ball than we’d seen before with the wrecking ball up front

Definitely the 4-0 vs Real Madrid

As an aside Jack Grealish could do with watching again how he played that night - he was magnificent taking on the full back continually at pace and causing havoc!
