Best City Football you've seen?

That 4-0 win against Real Madrid is probably the greatest performance from an English side in Champions League or European Cup history - the first half is the best football ever played by an English side against anyone, anywhere, ever. I spent the game convinced Madrid were going to come back into it like they always do but they were utterly shellshocked. Were it not for Courtois that game would have ended up 7-0, 8-0. We totally destroyed them and I don't think there's any team in the entirety of football history who would have coped with us that night.

Considering we'd gone toe to toe with them before and results had been quite narrow between the sides and at any moment either team could create a goal, to absolutely dominate them the way we did is one of the greatest performances by any side ever I would argue. They weren't some shit from a lower league that had barely played together. This was the European champions coming to the Etihad having beaten us the season before and with a 1-1 draw from the first leg. They didn't touch the ball in our half for about 30 minutes such was our complete control. It was a tactical masterclass from Pep and a footballing lesson from our players.

There have been some big wins in the CL before between top teams but it was the manner of the win in terms of our utter control of the game. We were like a heavyweight boxer pinning them against the ropes and landing punch after punch and they had no answer. It wasn't picking them off or forcing an error it was sustained unrelenting pressure.

Only saw it on tv but we had 45 minutes at WHL, night game, when we played football which was utterly unplayable.

Im pretty sure Tottenham fans couldn’t believe what they were watching.

Almost every game in the Centurions season. Such a great feeling going into almost every game expecting to win at least 3-0, and usually doing just that.

I miss those days. We’ve let too many rivals catch us up.

Without being silly, last 5 minutes against Gillingham, last 5 minutes against QPR, Sterling's last minute winner against Southampton, Jesus' 100 pointer at Southampton, 3 goals 76 - 81 mins against Villa, answering the question in the spirit of sustained excellence, simple really, first half against Madrid, nothing from City, (or indeed anyone else) comes even remotely close to it.

Ahead of our trip to WHL ....fond memories of destroying spurs 5-1 in their own back yard.Dzeko hit 4,Sergio 1,
Yaya Silva Nasri all supreme in midfield . I couldn't believe my eyes how slick we were. It was a lunchtime sat k.o.back in the day and we absolutely battered spurs. Our football was so fluid that day, really impressed me.
Was working my way through to see if anyone posted this.

I think that was my first “holy shit we’ve actually got a great team” moment as a City Fan. Couldn’t believe what I was watching.

Madrid 4-0 as already mentioned by many is a stand out game.

One of my other favourite performances was the 3-2 away win at soon to be Champions, Blackburn Rovers in 1994/5.( Or maybe 93/94).

Tony Coton gifted them a start a few mins in and it seemed like it was gonna be a long night in the pissing rain. Brian Hortons team could play though and despite going in at half time 2-1 down, we battered them second 45 and could have easily won 5-2. Walsh, Flitcroft, Quinn, Summerbee and Rosler ran them ragged.
Kenny Dalglish went on record as saying he could not believe we were so low down in the table playing football like that.

Spurs away under Mancini
Spurs at home under Pellegrini
Madrid at home under Pep

Keegan season in the Championship was fun and first few months of Sven.

As a season the centurions were unbelievable everyone got dickslapped nobody was spared.

Leading up to the CL and treble was the best football. Its not just about technically being good, it's mindset of the team and squad and seeing them grow into that from the start of the season. And to think that pep and his team have that method as a process they use every year is amazing. That was THE best football team I have ever seen nevermind City.

First half at Arsenal, a few days after we beat them in the League Cup final. Absolutely freezing, but City’s football in going 3 0 up by half time was just brilliant. Shame only about 10,000 Arsenal fans were there to see it.

Was that the one with the ridiculous team Sané goal and KDB being a fingertip save away from one of the best hattricks ever?

Any side with Tueart, Barnes Hartford and Donnachie in it for me, there were times when that lot played the fiddle the world seemed to dance.

I know there's no Tueart in this but this was blood and thunder.

Wembley wembley.... listened to that on an old radio in bed as a 7yr old
