Need to play 4 at the back with TWO sitting midfielders. 10 - 15 yards in front of the back 4.

I would go with Nunes and Gundo (unless Kova is fit).

Leave Haaland up top on his own and look for balls in behind down the channels for him to try and latch on to. He is quicker than Van Dijk and Konate.

And abandon the ridiculous hight line. Defend 20 yards deeper and make us hard to play through.

We need to frustrate them to have a chance of any result!!!
 
We might as well take the dicking rather than knacker ourselves up even further. These are no longer our rivals sadly.

The gulf is back to 80s and 90s level.
Incredulous the speed in which it's happened even allowing for injuries.
The lack of depth is astonishing.

It's alright for a lot if you....I've got to go!!
(By the way my personna and realism on here goes out the window during the match - for those obsesed with "atmosphere" and "getting behind the lads").

What's Gilingham got to do with it? I get you'd rather stay positive - highly commendable. Happening to our fan base? What? Realism?

Little bit of ‘I’m a massive Blue’ insecurity creeping in at the end there…

And all those occasions you feared the worst and it didn’t come to fruition - if that wasn’t realism, because it plainly wasn’t, how would you describe it?
 
This Sunday is a big indication of what way the players are going forward. If they can’t get up for this game and get a result then we have bigger problems than most of us think we have already.

Previous years I’ve gave them a pass because Liverpool knew they HAD to get a result against us at Anfield as we were always a couple points ahead or a couple of points off.

Knowing if they lose Sunday we’re 11 points behind having lost 4 league games in a row, be no excusing it. Even a decent performance & a 0-0 draw would do me know at this stage but I don’t think there’s a hope in hell of us keeping a clean sheet there.

1-1 in a 50/50 game, get the confidence up a little bit, Liverpool will have a blip but if we lose Sunday that blip they have will be of no concern to us.
 
We have defended awfully but in most of the games we have been the dominating one.

A combination of missed chances and bad defending.

We are probably playing against the world’s best team on exploiting our weaknesses.

So I understand the pessimism.

However, we are not a worse team then them and I still expect us to have chances and dominate the ball.

Our players are as good as there’s.

It’s not a small team playing a big team, so let’s not act that way.

Its horrific and embarrassing, but more importantly deeply worrying.

Any rags or dippers loitering on here must be pissing them sens !!

What are we becoming/have become !!

Sorry but it is more than poor defending and missed chances. At crucial points in recent games we have surrendered the initiative and we're effectively overcome in midfield. Our feeble defence has been unable to push back the tide.
As for the game on Sunday I expect a supreme effort from our boys which if the stars align in our favour just might yield dividends. Of course we have players who match those of any opposition you care to mention but currently a perfect storm of negativity has engulfed them and the collective is light years shy of where it needs to be. Sadly there is a growing gap between us and Liverpool, one we need to urgently address, and most likely they will prevail on Sunday.
 
Dippers all giddy as fuck in the office, next week is going to be a longggggggg week if we get battered.
Chance of me getting sacked as well ha
