Have the media polls bolloxed up another predicted election outcome?
In the last election Sinn Fein received the most first-preference votes, and won 37 seats, the party's best result since 1923So could it be possible that tomorrow the whole of the island of Ireland, will have SF as the majority party in both states.
Yep.In the last election Sinn Fein received the most first-preference votes, and won 37 seats, the party's best result since 1923
They could be top in this election but it will be hard for them to form a party as FG and FF will form an alliance again
It’s on Prime as far as I remember.Where can you watch the film?
They seem to get big crowds at their gigs at festivals, not just in Ireland
I’ve never listened to them so no idea if they’re good or not

Star Trek TNG was correct then ;-)
of couree it is, state sponsored terrorism has been arround and justified since the first weapon was createdVery good.
Tell me this though.
Is colonialism not terrorism?
Can you think of any empire that wasn’t taken by force, from the indigenous people.
Pretty sure the two main parties have constantly said down the years that they wouldn't go into coalition with SF. If one of them was to break rank, it'd be Fianna Fail, given their origins. In the last election Sinn Fein received the most first-preference votes, and won 37 seats, the party's best result since 1923

See The Monk is looking likely to win a seat in Dublin Central. What a load of bollocks, people voting for these cnuts must be hoping to end up homeless some day
Says it all really. A career criminal out for a guarenteed pension now his assets are looking like they will be lost in Spain. Or maybe he just doesn't want to feel like the biggest criminal in a room for 5 minutes. Saying that I probably would have voted for him over FF/ FG given the choice!See The Monk is looking likely to win a seat in Dublin Central.

I walk through the centre of Dublin each morning and evening and it’s gone to hell.
If we are depending on The Monk to pull it back from the brink, then we’ve gone to hell.
Homelessness is so evident. In what way has it gone to hell if you don’t mind me asking mate?
Homelessness is so evident.
What is or was the main shopping street on the northside has people sleeping in every other doorway.
Druggies at 8:00 in the morning in front of the GPO out of it with tourist across the road looking at them while waiting for their PaddyWagon tour bus.
That’s a start.
It’ll be same again for the next 5 years.Forgive my obvious ignorance on this, haven't read the the thread since the voting (drunkipoos) but do the people of Ireland want a Sinn Fein majority, or a Fine Gael majority, and what are the reasons for each?
It seems ( roughly) SF 20% FF 20% FG 20% others taking the rest . Not sure about SF, I think maybe for voting sinn fein the only realistic alternative to 100 odd years of Fianna fail or Fianna Gael rule. The only logical reason for voting FG / FF must be your pen is magnetically drawn to it against your will at the polling station.Forgive my obvious ignorance on this, haven't read the the thread since the voting (drunkipoos) but do the people of Ireland want a Sinn Fein majority, or a Fine Gael majority, and what are the reasons for each?
