How bad does Bernado have to be before he’s dropped?

Grealish certainly didn’t pull up any trees in the week but he was better than Bernado, and at least Grealish would be playing in his natural position and offering a bit of balance.

Presumably it will be Nunes out on the wing now when we really need his legs in the middle.

Interesting to see the set-up. At least with Nunes and Lewis we have legs in midfield. Ake and Ortega will be a boost in terms of defensive.

I think perhaps we go with a 3-2 and Akanji pushes into midfield.

Lewis doesn't have legs. That's part of his problem.

A midfield of Nunes, Bernie and Gundo would have made some sense.

Hoping it's

Ortega
Dias Akanji Ake
Walker Nunes Gundogan Lewis
Bernardo Haaland Foden

Otherwise fuck that.

That pushing into midfield needs to stop until we can get someone who can do it
It’s more like the treble mould though with a CB pushing in rather than a full-back.

Akanji was done it before. Perhaps we just go with a conventional 4 though instead of a +1.

I hope it’s Nunes in midfield as we need his legs in there in midfield.

Really didn't want to see all of Gundogan, Bernardo and Lewis in the line up. Lewis is great when the rest of the team is great but we aren't he'll be under loads of pressure in midfield and he just can't stay on his feet. Bernardo was awful midweek.

Happy Dias is back and Gvardiol needed dropping for his own sake, as he's been flogged. Ake hopefully will do better against Salah.

I've gotta admit I've been quite nervous in the lead up to this, but...

I really like the look of the team we've set up looks like we've packed out the midfield with a fairly solid backline, I'm glad we've dropped Gvardiol after his mistakes he needs it he's young and it's a learning curve... I've no problem with Stefan Ortega starting either.

We've got a very strong bench with KDB potentially able to come on to have a spectacular impact, plus wide men to suit whatever situation we might find ourselves in late on.

If this packed midfield that looks quite press resistant are on it with their own pressing game today, then I'm honestly very confident of us winning this even there.
