Football is unpredictable. Everything is possible, including a big City win. Tbh, I'm not very optimistic, but City can win everywhere no matter the circumstances.

In previous games, we missed many clear chances, in particular vs Sporting, Brighton and Spurs. Let's hope we score several goals from 3 half chances at Anfield. It's possible.

Win or lose, nothing can change the fact this team has been the most successful in English football. Maybe the shock therapy we are going through will help Pep to build another all-conquering City team. You need to suffer to achieve the best things. Our current problems will motivate the club to make that extra effort to get the players Pep needs.

The fact is we haven't won at Klanfield for a long time, even when we have been on top of the world. Now going there while they are on form and we're as bad as we've ever been, i think we probably have to setup accordingly. If he's anywhere close to 90%, Dias HAS to start. If he can, then as much as it pains me to say it i would probably have to drop Josko because we know Salah is going to score anyway, but with Josko's form right now we can't afford to give him more freebies.

I doubt Pep will do it, but I'd like to see Bernardo in the middle for this one. His record in these type games is immense, covers every blade of grass. Would rather see Foden replace Bernardo out wide and see him try and cut inside and get one of his trademark goals. He'll press Robertson and keep him pinned back too.

We desperately need our forward players to take the pressure off Haaland.

Ederson

 Akanji
Dias
Ake

Nunes
Gundogan
Bernardo

Foden
Grealish
Haaland

Hopefully KDB, Doku and Savinho all fresh to make an impact from the bench.

We play anywhere near what we have been playing like we will get beaten and significantly so.
Unfortunately I cannt see us turning it around...the players arent fit, arent available and those that are are underperforming.

Id be happy with anything that isnt a loss but I just cannt see it.

A midfield of Gundo and Rico Lewis will get destroyed and if Pep plays that again we will get what we deserve - them two cant keep up with average strikers and midfielders - they have no hope of Salah and Co who will have a free run at our back four.....

I'm weirdly optimistic (deluded?)

Despite how shite we have been, we are winners that don't know when to give up. If there was ever a game to show we're not down and out, it's this one. Of course anyone can lose games, but when you look at what we've won over recent years and how, nobody can question the fight in us.

Also, despite missing major players like Rodri, we're still a fairly strong team in reality. Most teams in football would kill for our starting 11 even without Rodri.

Beating the dippers isn't an impossible task, they just scraped past a shite team last weekend via a pen.

That said, their style of play and the holes in our team recently would naturally mean they'll absolutely hammer us, and they might.

I just trust Pep and the mentality of the players to turn it around. They've too much pride to want to keep going through this.

The turnaround starts on Sunday I reckon.

Brave of you, only playing 10 men

He had Lewis in the team but he covered it with Lemon Juice to mirror what we may see from him if he does play.

Only joking off course but some of our players have been invisible this season when on the pitch for large parts of the game.

Who do you suggest he plays in there then?

If you take a step back and look at the players we have available we can get a result. But our form is horrific and there's a clear issue of confidence. We're not doing the simple, basic things properly.

But this is a different level of game. Almost like a derby. Form goes out the window. They'll be bang up for it, for making a statement and our players should be seeing the opportunity to reduce the gap and make a statement of our own. If we can't get up for this one then when can we?

I want a better performance, but really we just need a positive result. I want to see more character and leadership. More coordinated pressing and defending off the ball. More composure and control in possession.
