clubs would have sold him years ago
Eh? As if
clubs would have sold him years ago
Stones is on 300k a week
Thing is now he's relied upon in the sense that we only have 6 defenders at the clubSadly that's more or less exactly the situation we currently have ,
No other club in the league has the capacity to have a centre back on 250k a week spending 1/2 the season in the injury room. They would have cut their losses.Eh? As if
He's 19 months left of his current contract, doubt he'll be offered another contract. That's if he's still here in 19 months. Was more talking about his next one, not sure how long he has left so if its like 3 years ignore me lol

I disagree with you on this. We aren't going move any centre backs on this summerNo, you don't.
You are definietly doing Stones a disservice. He still has showed signs he can still be a very useful player to keep around. His equaliser vs Arsenal being fresh in the memory. And besides that no team is going to be interested in a "perma crock" on £200k wagesI'd like to know what games your watching...
Before you jump on that, yes I am aware midfield is a shambles also and if you have a strong midfield you can get away with the defense but as it stands our defense is either half fit and patched up alongside burnt out and finished.
We need a complete reset.
Plenty want to keep a perma crock around the squad on 200k a week rather than sign someone who can contribute for more than two games in a row but what do they know ;)
The issue is not a single team is going to be interested with his current injury problems. We aren't short in numbers in defence. That is the least of the problems. We aren't going to let go on a free just yet. He could call it a day but I get the impression he isn't ready to do that. Again that is the only reason why we might get another centre back in.I'd be astonished if he was still with us next august. He's a fantastic player (remember his displays against utd and Inter on consecutive weekends in huge games at the end of the 22/23 season). But the guy just can't stay fit for anything like an extended period anymore. And he's no use to us sat in the stand.
It's not a disservice. It's a fact. You are definietly doing Stones a disservice. He still has showed signs he can still be a very useful player to keep around. His equaliser vs Arsenal being fresh in the memory. And besides that no team is going to be interested in a "perma crock" on £200k wages
Still looked like a useful player in his starts this season. And I don't think City will pay him off. The only way is on a free next summer or he decides to retire. Same with KDB. We aren't going to bring in too many during the summer and it will be a gradual moving out of the seniors. Staring with Walker and possibly Eddy. I wouldn't want Bernardo to leave just yet but that might be the surprise departure as we can still get decent money for him. It's not a disservice. It's a fact.
So no one is going to be interested in him because of injuries which means we should just keep him around, taking up a squad space and big wages. Brilliant.
City can pay him off if we really want to.
Never said he didn't. There is no question about his ability. This is a question of availability and surely these injuries are just piling up physically and mentally for him and City.Still looked like a useful player in his starts this season.
Again we aren't going to cut him loose just yet. Same with Kev.Never said he didn't. There is no question about his ability. This is a question of availability and surely these injuries are just piling up physically and mentally for him and City.
We have been extremely fortunate that Dias and Akanji have been extremely reliable because they have been carrying Ake and Stones. Maybe to their own detriment this season as them two have fallen to injuries.
Not many clubs in the world can just suffer nearly 100m of CBs just not being available.
I wouldn't be surprised either way tbh. However the decision from the club will be leaning one way at the minute I reckonAgain we aren't going to cut him loose just yet. Same with Kev.
Injuries will stop them moving in the summer unless they show real signs they can overcome their fitness issues. We won't buy out their contracts but we do let our starts move on a free once they come to the end of their contracts (but we do try and get them to renew if they show they have worth in the team)I wouldn't be surprised either way tbh. Actually I’d be his Grandmother as most of my grandkids are round his age! :-) :-)Just making a joke about Eccles being Stones' mum.
(Sorry, Eccles, I'm just pulling your leg)
