Take the hat off for a bit ;-)Dipper ref saves his team.
He'd have given a foul on the keeper for the barcodes third if he hadn't flapped at it.

We may as well throw in the towel now. All of us as Liverpool will given the league.
I've just watched Newcastle be denied a stone wall penalty and then the referee blew for full time as the Geordies were attacking 3 on 2. All referees wait to see how it plays out before blowing.......unless its against the dippers.
Edit: See above. Disgraceful
No referee blows up when the team break away and attack. Last night Newcastle were doing just that. The ref blew a few seconds before this as the ball was near the halfway line, so the picture is a false representation of what happened.
Would have been nice for him to play a bit longer, but he did blew up after the 5 mins injury time had been played.

And the nailed on penalty they didn't get ?

Except he didn't blow when the keeper released the ball. He blew after or as Newcastle crossed the halfway line and were attacking 3 on 2.If time was up, and the keeper had the ball, then it's totally normal for him to blow once the keeper releases the ball.
There was no breakaway when he blew, just a ball in the air.

Might have found some form as wellEverton’s last derby at Goodison Saturday, as bad as they’ve been they’ll try their hardest I’m sure, more points dropped I reckon
Simple solution to this, once time is up play continues until it goes deadThe referee blows during the ball travelling from the keeper to the Newcastle player. Looks to me that he had already decided he's blowing after the keeper has got rid of the ball.
I think it's a penalty though, but the referee's call is a load of bollocks as is VAR in general to be fair.
There was you a few posts ago going on about being blinkered and now you post something that quite "tame/unblinkered"...well compared to your usual response to all things dipper related. Has "Slopp" had a calming Dutch effect on you? They're a good side, at this moment in time a very good side, but I still feel, more than anything else, that it's the novelty of a new manager that is having a stabilising effect on the team's morale - after Bingo's sudden departure had almost derailed everything.
Slopp has come in and appears to have had a calming influence on the team, with the result that they are a far more cohesive unit than they were under the Colgate king and his 100 miles per-hour hoofball. But like all teams they have their frailties and they can be exploited. He's only been there a few months and there is a long way to go before we can make a judgment. But so far, they're doing what they have to do to clock up the points. Fair play to them for that.
But I still do not rate vain Dick as highly as many others do. He was at fault for two of the goals last night when he was slow to react to what was happening. Had they not had Salah up the other end the Geordies would have won that game, of that I'm sure.
We'll have a better idea when the transfer window opens and we've seen who's bought who and who's gone where, but so far I've seen nothing to fear from either the dippers or anyone else in the top echelons of the Premier League.
