i have supported them since 1979 and will continue to watch them till i die , i sometimes dont watch. the cl games purely because i take a load of meds in the evening and cant stay up, i never miss a prem game

You may come to terms with us finishing in the bottom half. You are entitled of being pessimistic. It's based on nothing more than a month of football as opposed to 8 seasons under Pep, and 16 years of management.

This is a pointless observation. We have failed to win the league in previous seasons, too. Bad seasons happen, especially after 4 great seasons. What's more, having a bad season after several successful seasons is the norm.

The post is pointless because it ignores the context of the discussion, whether we are likely to make the top 4 or not. If you think you can predict our final position on the basis of the last 6 games, and that it will be out of the top 4, you are free to bet your house on it. Don't do it, for you are likely to lose it.

Not worried about us finishing top 4, as I do think we will only improve one way or another.

Jokes aside, I still only see Villa as being able to challenge us for top 4. Spurs and United are just awful, and also so inconsistent, and we've also got a 7 point head start on them from here which I don't see them bridging.

Hopefully we bring some real quality in during January and we can kick on to get 3rd or 4th.

Today's proven to me that we hit rock bottom a few weeks ago, and that there are very few teams around us that can take advantage of what has been a generally horrific month for the club. Home wins, away draws are fine for top four.

We just have to stay humble and take our medicine (literally, in the case of a few players).

Kova, Stones, Foden, Akanji, Grealish, Doku, Kev, Ake can't *all* stay injured for the rest of the season. And while I don't think we can make any killer signings in January I think we can make at least one.
