So the farmers block streets and cause traffic jams across the capital.
Now I personally agree with their right to protest,
I am just shocked that the people who complained about the Just Stop Oil people causing traffic jams and stopping ambulances are strangley quiet about the farmers, I wonder why that is?

There are protests in that part of London every week. So I presume you want people to complain about every protest?

Most working people don’t drive to that area either - with the underground/public transport.

Generally people don’t mind peaceful protesters. The just stop oil lot were stopping trains, traffic and generally just being annoying after a while.

Fair points.

Because they are Clarkson disciples

I don't understand why it's not possible to only charge the tax when the farm is sold? A part of me thinks it's unfair fo charge death duties at all but I do think farms are an exception. If your parents die and leave a house then why should you pay tax anyway if you sell it, but farms are very likely to stay within a family and forcing them to pay 20% of the total value of the estate is likely to result in them being forced to sell as a minimum part of the assets and it most cases all of the farm. I don't think that's fair and the policy needs a re-think and I hope government think again rather than just steam rollering this through because they can.

Just get a few border collies to round them up.

even better get their nemesis - HMRC - to visit them whilst they are gridlocked in Whitehall and dip their tanks. Anyone running on Red can be prosecuted. The only permissible uses are

farmers can use red diesel for a number of purposes, including:
  • Agricultural operations
Farmers can use red diesel for agricultural operations such as growing crops, harvesting, and raising animals.

  • Heating
Farmers can use red diesel to heat farm buildings, greenhouses, and livestock shelters.

  • Snow and ice
Farmers can use red diesel to deal with snow, ice, frost, and flooding, including travel to and from the area.

    • Private land
Farmers can use red diesel on private land where the vehicle is normally kept for agricultural use.
    • Short road travel
Farmers can apply for a NIL license from the DVLA to travel short distances on the road between different blocks of farmland.

The only change they should make is up the threshold.
