It would be no bad thing if we did get knocked out (apart from financially, obviously). Let's face it, we're highly unlikely to win it, are we? We need to concentrate on finishing in the top 4 in the league.

If we could stay in it I think we’ve more chance of winning a poor knock out cup than we have of finishing in the top 4.
If Triore had been able to shoot and Stones hadn’t scored two last minute goals, we’d already be bottom half.
In the ‘recent form guide’ we’re only being kept of the bottom by Southampton so ‘concentrating on the top 4’ is impossible for us at the minute.

None of that should matter, if Pep would cut his cloth, according to what we’ve got available. Continuing to play that high line, with no pressing and slow ball is just suicidal.
Can’t we ever just sit deep, in a low block and attempt to play on the counter?

Pep is stubborn and won’t change his philosophy, he does need commending for that , we have become a team of the first 45 minutes , almost every defeat we have played well in the first half , we get overrun in second halves , the question is why ? it’s baffling how we fall apart in the second half of games on such a consistent basis , I’m of the opinion we will click on Sunday , they are dogshite , it’s become a season where the derbies are the cup finals , and hopefully scrape top four.

To be fair we were very lucky earlier in the season. Haaland was actually scoring which papered over the cracks but teams were still ripping us open and we were very lucky to record wins over Brentford, Fulham and Wolves

One thing that really wound me up tonight is how many times we not only just pass it sideways, but when we rarely did have chance to push forward we pass it sideways so the player receiving it always has to stop and wait for the ball.

In the past I remember players and pep talk about positive passing, effectively passing the ball so players can come on to it and positively impact the game. At the moment we are the complete opposite. Confidence is on it’s arse, but we are so negative with the ball now, teams don’t need to do anything other that make it difficult for us and they know how bad we are defensively they will get their chance to win.
