Juve away

Away end was half empty top tier, we were row 20 and it was dead behind us. Someone said that 70+ people didn't get in, and they bussed them back to the centre.

Peps post match comments are becoming more difficult to listen to with each game. We didn't play excellent, you shouldn't be so so proud. They were absolutely dog shit last night. And Juve were about the same level.

I'm never more concerned about conceding as when we have the ball 20 yards outside their goal and it gets turned over. You can best it will at best end up with an effort on goal.

A bad set of results has been coming a while with the recruitment over the last 2 years. Didn't expect it be be this bad though. We are now adding some of the unwanted records to the list we've accumulated over the years.

Probably more like a couple of hundred fans, like myself and my 16 year old son who didn’t get in
Yes all us die hard City fans like myself who were refused entry to the stadium for committing the heinous crime of having a match ticket that didn’t match ze passport name and ze information
A lot of seriously disgruntled City fans who, like myself spent thousands getting over to Italy, time off work etc to be told by ze authority we are not allowed to support ‘our’ team
Thts it for me personally after 44 years of going here there and everywhere I am finished,I’ll never go again which is a shame as I have loved it but the love has gone, they have taken the enjoyment away from it
The next time I hear anyone mention empty seats or see Pep encouraging the fans to make noise I will go ballistic
They have built this great big stadium but the likes of me are not welcome
The club doesn’t want me
My post will probably disappear as a lot of my words are not welcome on this forum for some reason my opinion isn’t as welcome as others

Didn’t the Juve tickets go to very low points or even open sale? I’d have thought most Blues could have bought their own ticket for this, the same as for Lisbon, rather than risking getting turned away after spending all that money.

Whilst this is true the logistics etc people want to have a confirmed ticket so probably took the plunge and got a ticket before the drops could save you a couple hundred. I wish we made it equally as difficult and hard for European away teams to come to us. Was the same with Madrid etc just a ploy to make the away end worse

Not sure why you are angry at city when it would be juve who are responsible for those rules (which are common for most European aways).

I feel for you and your son but your anger seems misplaced. They made it clear the name had to match the ticket and unfortunately you took the risk.

The club got the points levels completely wrong for Sporting and Juventus, which no doubt also contributed to what you said.

My mate had two tickets but couldn’t go so I said I’d buy em and take my lad
Unfortunately we live in a world where you can’t do spontaneous acts of kindness anymore
Shame as we’ve had a really great trip with great lads
Many laughs along the way
One of our mates is going to be banned by city very soon
I won’t go into detail but he is a massive fan,he goes everywhere watching city,he is a character and City don’t want people like him going to the game, they want obedient fans who do as they are told not individuals who sing risky songs and have a laugh, they have taken the fun out of it
Is it City, yes it is I hold the club responsible that’s why my love affair is over
Shame as the last 44 years has been a lot of fun but the fun is over for me personally

Personally I'm not a great fan of the draconian security arrangements confronting City supporters whenever we play in Spain or Italy, particularly being locked inside the stadium for an hour post match and the subsequent magical mystery tour around the ring roads of Turin.

However some of the anti social behaviour from a small minority was embarrassing.
Thankfully the coked-up idiot who found it amusing to jump on a taxi roof was subsequently twatted by the Taxi Driver

It clearly says ticket name had to match your passport or ID. It’s pretty well known that Italian football has had this rule for years. If you’d have contacted City before travelling they would have changed the name for you. The tickets went to open sale. It’s no one else’s fault.

Both matches went to open sale. It was obvious to everyone it would go to very low points. I’m no apologist for Danny Wilson and the ticket office but how did the club get it wrong?

I went to Bratislava and Lisbon on a ticket brought on here, no issues :0)

Gave Juve a miss for all the reasons noted on this thread, don’t need the hassle, did the San Siro a few years ago, worst bit was the Stadium experience!!!

After which the missus said she would do future overseas trips, but without going to the match :0(

Will be back for a week in Paris and the PSG match :0)

Portuguese and Slovak football doesn’t have the same issues with Ultras.

I think the draconian rules in Italy were brought in when a copper was kicked to death by a group of fans and there was several murders in the same season.

You don’t fuck around with the carabineri (national/military police) in Italy. They’ll batton you and ask questions later. You’re not going to be able to sweet talk them like you could over here. No fucks given whatsoever.

Obviously gutting you & your lad didn't get in, but the club were very clear on this and loads said the same in here about how strict it was on previous trips to Italy.

In the past I've known some to at least change names on the PDF to match up with the relevant passport if the tickets been passed on. But to just turn up with a mismatch in ticket and passport when you had multiple warnings, unfortunately this ones all on you.

I went to see England play Belgium in the Stadio del Alpi in Turin during the 1980 Euro's.

A Tony Woodock goal was disallowed and England fans kicked off, the carabineri response was to fire "Tear Gas" into the crowd indescriminantly and also let off a few batton rounds as well.

Like you say you don't fcuk around with them, being tear gassed was an experience I never want to have again:-)

Chatting to people in the Huntsman and Murphy’s bars over the afternoon yesterday, I was genuinely surprised how many were using other people’s tickets, and assuming or hoping they wouldn’t really check them. The moment the ticket scan at the entrance triggered a screen with my name and date of birth, to check against my passport, which they did thoroughly, you realised there were potentially going to be a lot of refusals. Given the warnings, prior experience in Italy and the fact any member could have got a ticket in their own name, I still don’t really get why there was so many who did this. To be clear I’m not judging, people do what they do, but why risk it when the tickets were freely available anyway?

Maybe some top loyalty points fans and supporters clubs buy tickets for every match and pass them on for most games?

I feel for you, but what is it you think City have done wrong? It's a legal requirement for Italian matches that names are put on the tickets.

Teach the thugs a lesson, well done.

There weren’t enough tickets allocated to Supporters Clubs, whose members tend to make up approximately half our following for Champs League group stage away games. Even when there were a few returns, these went within 2 minutes of getting a email from the OSC. Obviously, lots more Supporters Club Blues snapped up tickets from the 500 or so that sold slowly. City should increase the OSC allocation for Paris if we want to sell our end out.
