It's the exact same situation with Haaland. He's playing virtually every minute of every game because we haven't got a back up. I'm not sure playing him until he breaks is a sensible strategy.
The problem was for the first as a team we got big headed pep aswell and thought we just turn up with the sand team and win and it’s been a massive fuck Up and thank fuck our dof is going because he has made a real mess of the recruitment to the extent that now it’s gonna rake at least 4 windows to get us back to our best if we do .

Impossible to know any of that is true, unless you know exactly what the discussions of the board and transfer team were in the summer, plus their reasoning for the strategy they had.
Anyway 2 windows this one and the summer will fix it.

Chelsea were 6th last season and look where they are. Arsenal were going to win the title this year if we didn't and look how they're struggling. The dippers ended up 9pts off top last season, bought one player and are now top and being tipped to win the lot. Things change quickly in football. We have a core of fantastic players and an excellent squad. It needs some reinforcements, it needs some clearing and it needs everyone to be fully fit. But we'll be okay.

Can’t see it mate
Eddie will be gone in the summer so hoping we start to play Ortega as he could go if he is frozen out .
Walker ake ( injury prone )
Gundo kdb Bernardo grealish nunes Phillips kova are all aged or not good enough and then you doku and saviio who atm are showing hardly anything to suggest they will be our new sterling and sane so in theory we need a total new midfield because only foden and maybe bobb (who could be anything ) and Rodri are for the future and the hen we have he big man up front who no one knows what’s going through his head. Haaland was never a pep style player but he’s been shoehorned in to be accommodated j mean can you imagine if we actually built a team round Haaland and played to his strengths. We should have been bringing in youth every window to refresh the hunger and we have dropped the ball . Massive rebuild needed .

The strategy was to play gundo in a false 9 in games where he’s not fit or not needed in terms of the level of the team. However with injuries we haven’t been able to play that system

If we're not gonna buy a 2nd striker, maybe we should start giving Mubama a chance. I can see him starting against Salford

Nunes seems the most likely makeweight, although not convinced he’d actually get into their starting XI. £50m + Nunes would be a good deal for us, and help Newcastle with any imminent PSR issues.
I like the sounds of this. But I think whenever a player is involved now they're sold for cash for the benefit of both teams PSR headroom.

We pay Newcastle for Bruno G for £75m, they pay us £25m for Nunes (essentially the £50m + player valued at £25m. Both teams get to add the values to PSR calculations. Writing off Nunes for £0 won't happen.

Can’t imagine Newcastle will be remotely interested in Nunes (sadly).

I read we will go for guimeres and don't feel the performances will improve one bit, he has no pace, or the defensive ability to sit in front of a defence, even fans of the horse punchers concede he isn't great as a holding midfielder and better in an advances role and he isn't an improvement on foden, kev, grealish or berny.

Pointless imho and a signing that leavws me unenthusiastic

I've not heard that one before, and it doesn't seem the best plan anyway in case of injury. I doubt it's even true tbh

The fact is that Haaland has played well over two hours more than any other player we have and that's just PL minutes. Taking into account his minutes in the CL and it's probably way more.

It was just piss poor planning for the season ahead.
