Here’sa shooting in America I can totally get behind:

A Florida man shot two men with masks who broke into his home. Both had criminal records one was an illegal alien.

He saw on a camera what the two miscreants were about to do. Sure enough, they forcibly entered the home. The homeowner got his weapon and fired at the intruders. One was killed and the other was found by police a few minutes later.

One of the knuckleheads had an active warrant and was considered armed and dangerous by authorities.

File this under “play stupid games, win stupid prizes.”

Not a trigger, just an interesting observation.

The US lives in a state of perpetual fear about seemingly everything. You highlighting “one was an illegal alien”, shows that. You have been convinced anyone from a country that doesn’t speak English as a first language, especially Muslim, are inherently dangerous. That’s manipulation to serve a Rightwing agenda pushed by a Rightwing anti immigration media.

The stats don’t support this view. But, that same media knows the vast majority won’t check it out.

Guns have created this need to shoot to kill intruders. You think they all have them. Americans seem terrified, if you’re a yank, this is exactly the Facist playbook, we know over here in Europe. Fear the other, demonise and dehumanise him, blame him, persecute him, he deserves it.

The irony is the amount of self proclaimed Christian’s who are balls deep in this. When their guy would welcome them. If he came back, he would again be crucified, this time for being too woke and not a fan of guns.

We will have four years of said political agenda go about it. And, I will wager, there will be fuck all Christian about it.

People on this board think America is inherently dangerous and we are all gun toting yahoos. That’s simply not true. There are areas that are high. Time and dodgy. I have no idea if this area of Florida is considered high crime or not.

The reason I mentioned one was an illegal alien is that a) it’s factual and b) it’s galling that we have people who shouldn’t even grace our shores running around attempting home invasions. We have enough crime from natives we don’t need to import more. I wish these were isolated cases but they are not. Just like that illegal, he was from Guatemala, who was deported but snuck back in again who just last week murdered a lady minding her own business sleeping on the subway by setting her on fire!! FFS!!

What do you think those two mamalooks would have done to that husband and wife had he NOT been armed and taken decisive action.

In Florida (reasonably sane) he is lauded or at least protected by the law. In New York he probably would have been prosecuted!!

They broke in and deserved what they got, the blue moon liberal massive are not the height of common sense or even morality, don't break into houses don't get killed.

Pretty easy rule to live your life by.

I agree those individuals are seriously deranged. That doesn’t mean they all are. And we look at how you get so worked up about the word ****, yet don’t care enough to do something to at least reduce school shootings. We don’t like that. Every country, forever, has had immigrants, yours top of the list. Now you want to pull the ladder up now you are ok. Again, how Christian. It seems you have an endless line of things to hate. It’s a moveable feast based on whoever the right want to demonise. Used to be black people, still is, Muslims, immigrants, Muslim immigrants, Trans people, gay people, women. I know half the population aren’t the above, but the above put their guy in the Whitehouse. Good luck with that.

Thread is going in a different direction. If you want to comment on immigration policies let’s head over to the US Politics thread.

Not against immigration. We need a steady flow of stable, vetted immigrants for our work force. The children of hard working assimilated immigrants usually do much better than their parents.

Hopefully as a nation our government can walk and chew gum at the same time. However, I am not that optimistic.

I have adopted daughters who have been waiting six years to come here legally. They speak English, DO NOT have any type of criminal record, and will work willingly and become taxpayers shortly after they arrive. Why can’t we replace the criminals, ones that ALREADY have had due process and have deportation orders, the line jumpers with people who will work hard, become taxpayers and no a drain on the working public?

Again wrong thread. I stand by what I said before, “ Play stupid games, win stupid prizes.”
