In my opinion the starting midfield today was more mobile and better than it has been. The defence was not great but it was Silva and Haaland in attack which cost us a win as a result of missing Gilt edged opportunities to score. Along with other personnel that are required we need another striker either playing alongside Haaland or can start/come on in place of him.

Hard to see how it changes. Ake will doubtless be out for a few weeks now, leaving us with 4 defenders - Lewis, Walker, Akanji and Gvardiol - all of whom are playing terribly. Midfield is a mix of those who aren’t good enough, are struggling or are physically done. Haaland is lost, Savinho and Doku flatter to deceive.
Pep could be the great leveller in all this, but at the moment is wedded to a setup that isn’t working and exposes our lack of athleticism horribly.

It's depressing that this dog shit performance was seen as an improvement.

Well, at this moment we are in very poor form, that's undeniable.
I'll take small hints of improvement. We shouldn't have missed the pen or the Bernardo chance either, and they would have completely changed the narrative.
I read that today 35% of our squad are injured. That doesn't include Kev, who is clearly not fit.
After a decade of winning, it must be demoralising to hit that wall. It is also true that we are missing a few natural leaders in Dias, Rodri, and Stones. Kev just isn't the same man either and Kyle has made such a mess of his life that I doubt others are looking to him.
