The BBC have two good articles today. The Balague one about Pep and if you can stomach it , one about Ferguson.

Having read both I'm coming around to a Pep rebuild.
The fact that the gpc had already been at the swamp for 18 years before they embarked on a significant rebuild suggests that if Pep feels he can do this, then he probably can.
 
Players that fit the profile either quality young, or quality experienced.

Right Centre Backs: Marc Guehi, Ronald Araujo, Ousmane Diomande, Ilya Zabarnyi, Christian Mosquera, Bafode Diakite, Joel Ordóñez, Addulay Jouma Bah, Pietro Comuzzo, Martin Vitik.

Left Centre Backs: Alessandro Bastoni, Gonçalo Inacio, Murillo, Nathan Zeze

Some of these can be picked up at very good value due to less time on their contract or they are less proven but have shown the abilities of having great potential. Some are likely attainable in January and some are likely only attainable in Summer.

Personally I feel we have an anomalous no. of players we need to move out and replace compared to previous transfer windows in 2025. Due to this I don’t think it is likely that City can spend big on all the new players, we need to find some bargains to meet financial constraints imposed by FA and UEFA.

Caveat: the players above are ones I have picked out and are not necessarily targeted by City and I would target in 2025 either this January or in summer.

I know this is applicable at the moment but Stones and Ake have been injury prone their entire city careers, can't always blame it on being brought back early

Stones is 30, Ake turns 30 in February, are only gonna get more injury prone as they age and only have 1.5 year and 2.5 years respectively on their deals

Harsh on Ake, one major injury first season, other wise available for 50+ games every season.

January is nearly upon us, how is it looking on the transfer front. Who are the potential players out realistically?

Dont agree we need the bodies, players are mentally shot, need to be rotated more. wont be outgoings till the summer imo.

We don't even know if we can get players in, so no point telling senior players to fuck off and shrinking the squad even more.

Can’t do it on one window unless we pull off a Chavs style trolley dash, Kev and Gundo out of contract end this season and personally think they will exit then. Quite a few with contracts ending end season 26 - Bernie, Stones, McAtee, Walker and Ortega. Will be interesting to see if any get a contract extension. Just hope the new Director has quietly given a heads up on a couple of gems. Players with hunger and legs. Would settle for goods off the middle shelf if it meant we had a functioning fighting unit in midfield.

Fingers crossed mate.

Viana didn't have the best record in terms of recruitment before Amorim took the reigns so I'm keeping expectations in check for now.
 
Us lot playing fantasy football, we can throw up 10-15 names per position, easy done.

Time to see what they have in store for the window. Bring it on.

Fair, didnt think of that type of deal.
 
Depends on the champions league as we can only register 3 new players. Echeverri won’t play much. Also we will get much better deals and better selection in the summer.

3 solid signings and some morale boost should be enough to get top 5. Haaland needs a rest. Pep needs to settle his differences with KDB. We need better control in the middle.
