Everton (H) | PL | Post Match Thread

Defend deep , hold your nerve , pass into midfield , a couple of passes , out wide , ball into space for a quick wide / forward player and we are done for , week in week out it’s happened , every single manager has sussed us out now , it was only a matter of time before Pep got sussed , and he’s looking weaker and weaker as this clubs manager as the weeks pass

You get what you pay for ( Grealish apart)

We used to buy high quality players with incredible talent and hunger.

We now buy average, timid characters who are sh1t scared when it matters.

Hugo has a hell of a job on his hands, my word he needs a lot of money, a lot of help and good fortune.

I despair of how many times there's a forward pass 'on' - and you can see Haaland, or even KDB in the 2nd half moving ahead into space - then the guy on the ball turns inside, or backwards and lays off the ball. I can't see any change in our fortunes until this stops. It's got us absolutely nowhere for nearly 3 months now.

Yes, we may give possession away a little more, but we might just cause a panic in the opposition defence with an unexpectedly early forward pass. Might create a chance, even.

I hoped for 7 points out of Everton, Leicester and Brentford. I'll settle for 5 now.

It's on STV player ATM, entire series. Me and my lovely OH have rewarched from the start, done about 500 episodes to date ( we are in mid 1987 on the show). Sinbad was in during 83/ 84 minor part, but obviously reappears as a major character fairly soon..

Much as I loathe Scousers some of the social commentary and culture covered was ahead of its time and was prophetically accurate for how some issues are nowadays.
It actually had decent writing. Unlike the fantasy worlds of other soaps, Brookside was a more honest attempt to depict everyday conflicts and societal ills. And what a better location to depict conflict and societal ills than scouseland

Amazing where our players disappear too when teams break on us, Mr Ben stuff
Was it Savinho with the most pathetic attempt at a midfield tackle ever in the lead up to that chance? Might have been someone else but whoever it was just let the Everton player ghost past him. Pathetic

I fully understand he doesn't want to throw his players under the bus, and all credit to him for that. But seriously? "The performance against that team was really good offensively and defensively"

I'll have to invest in a new telly, as my current one didn’t show that.
Pg must be on medication at the moment

Not great again today we’re so predictable at the moment. No doubt, goals change games, and if Silva puts that one in, we’re flying. Pep will get this right, but there’s no question we need to freshen up this squad immediately.

Only way to fix this is 3 players minimum in January. I would not be surprised if we didn’t sign 1

A few players want to go
A few too old
A few exhausted
Many just not good enough

The board have screwed up hugely

:-(

He’s hardly going to say “Well, Kev and Gundog are 73, everyone is either injured or playing with an injury and a few of the lads are bobbins and I’ll be getting rid as soon as I can” is he mate?

Seems like an evisceration of the team on here today, but the game centered on one moment that created two incidents that, for me, shaped the game…

1) The Mykelenko foul on Savinho for the penalty SHOULD have been Mykelenko’s second yellow card, which would have put Everton down to 10 men.

2) Haaland SHOULD have scored the penalty, and we would have been 2-1 up against 10 men and it SHOULD have been game over.

Personally, I think Hooper bottled that decision, especially when comparing that challenge to others in the game that did receive a yellow.

Had a good chance in killing the game before they equalised. Individual mistake aside we dealt with what Everton had to offer.

Midfield has been so good it gave control when attacking or defending. That is where we are lacking and it is not just about missing Rodri. With Rodri in place younger players could be brought through. Now we are exposed.
