Everton (H) | PL | Post Match Thread

Could have written that myself, and we actually said some of that during the game. Stick to what worked so well - the 4-3-3 - and don't piss about.

And I've said on here before that we should have been ruthless after the CL final, when we knew that some of our players would be coming to the end of their top-level careers in a couple of years. That failure, and Pep's loyalty to a small, ageing squad, has killed us.
Knowing Pep & Txiki as we do, our squad situation doesn't make sense. No one knows the game like these two campaigners, so why've they allowed us to slide to where we're heading, without acting 2-3 years ago?

Unlike others, I thought the 115 had nothing to do with our transfers, so was surprised when it was mentioned in our recent financial report. Could this be why we've kept our transfer powder dry?

Regardless, we are where we are & instead of trying to find where the fault lies with our current form, we need to return to the drawing board, & rejig our squad to a standard 4-3-3 & hopefully progress from there.

The big issue now is if Guardiola is willing to concede our complex inverted full back tactical formation has run its course without Rodri. The signs were there. With Rodders it worked & we won, but last season when he was banned for 3 matches, we lost the lot.

It's not difficult to see where our major issue lies imo...

We've been spoilt watching some of the greatest football ever.

Now we're playing at a human level we think we're shite because of what we've been used to.

A true headfuck.

Also, anyone getting Wenger last season at Arsenal vibes?
Human level is relegation form?

Penalty miss away in getting a satisfactory win.
We shouldn’t have to rely on fucking shoe ins to beat shite like Everton, every team we play do us for pace in midfield and defence , I was a fan of Gvardiol, but let’s have it right , he’s a fucking shite defender- and people on here give Rico shit - he’s twice the player he is.

Why was there booing at the end? The team didn’t stop playing and trying to win. They didn’t deserve the booing.
What game were you watching? Savio, Haaland, Doku, rico & Akanji all showed terrible body language in that 2nd half.

It was mentioned for the past few years as a contingency that must be considered for the coming years However, this was dropped from the latest report and moved to a different less significant place that’s the auditor’s view as well
Currently spending £300M on infrastructure as well

Why why why every time we win the ball back do we just stand there and let the opposition get back into their shape when we have Doku Haaland and Savinho up top with bags of pace! Get the ball up to them to run on to. I can’t remember the last time we scored a goal from a counter attack.

Not seen the game but just sounds like the lads only have about 60 mins in the legs at the moment due to repeated injuries and illness. Think there are signs it'll get better.

Think he still has a lot to offer, like modric at RM.

He's simply not got the legs anymore and he'd be a passenger in the PL.

If he's still got fuel in his tank, France or Spain may suit him, but that is questionable.

Why do you think he's been in talks with Saudi clubs for the last 6 to12 months?
