Ipswich Away - Needham Market FC

24 Norfolk Blues members have tickets for this ... not me though, although I still have fond memories of Eyal's screamer and Hucks 6-pack in the Cup over 2 decades ago.

Totally off topic, sorry, but this has brought back memories of a time in 1999 when we played Ipswich away on a Sunday and Norwich away, two days later on the Tuesday night.

Probably a couple hundred of blues made a mini 3/4 night East Anglian break out of it and to say things got a little messy would be some understatement.

I’ve even just this second remembered that some of us nipped over to Holland at one point between the games, that I’d completely forgotten about. Or was it Belgium?

Happy days. Anyway, sorry, carry on.

Wasn’t it Ipswich on Tuesday and Naaarwich on Friday night? That was the last 2 away games in my first full season going to every game home and away.

Norwich was definitely Friday night, bomb hoaxes closed some of the M-ways and I ended up taking a weird route via the M62 east and then A-roads through Lincolnshire. All that for a grim 0-0. It was 96/97 season.

As an exiled Blue living near Norwich - instrumental in getting the Norwich branch up and running a few years back (although circumstances have prevented me being involved these days) - do you know if there are any tickets available??

I'll be travelling down on the Sunday from Diss regardless, so hoping to pick up a ticket

For any blues looking to make a weekend of our trip to Ipswich Town on Sunday 19th January then former blue Kevin Horlock’s Needham Market are at home on the Saturday.
Actually spoke to Kevin Horlock on Saturday when his team played at King's Lynn.

Thanked him for the Gillingham goal and said we'd be fucked if the class of 99 didn't come up trumps.

His response was "we'd have been fucked if it had fell to my right foot"!!!

He was pretty passionate whilst talking about City.

Needham Market are struggling - they are a village team competing in a division containing numerous ex-league clubs, I'm surprised the FA put them in the National League North (I know they are literally on the border of the league split, but it's ridiculous the amount of travelling they have to do)

He certainly does and was actually a City fan growing up which he explains in the Tales of Blue I did with him a couple years back now.

Blimey I’d never heard of Needham Market FC or even Kevin Horlock’s Needham Market FC and just googled and despite being in East Anglia they are playing one league higher than the Moston Rag Socks!
They Play Radcliffe..I'm desperate to get two tickets for the Ipswich game so I can see both games, already booked the hotel for me and the Mrs .....can anyone help, need two tickets pleeeeese !

Relegation scrap vs Radcliffe, should be a good game, Radcliffe not doing too bad atm and outplayed Farsley in another relegation battle on NYD
