I admit it's an awful post by myself although not an excuse I was rather drunk :(

My point remains tho and it's my opinion I don't think he's very good.
Easily done after a few scoops mate

I don’t agree. I’d agree he’s not been great this past couple of months, but I think he’ll be fine. I can only really think of Rooney & Michael Johnson off the top of my head as players who didn’t improve after the age of 20

Lewis had a better performance at Leicester than his run of poor performances. He was certainly better positionally and noticeably harder working at getting back into position than his jogging that was driving me up the wall for many games.

I agree, nowhere near good enough and I see nothing to make me believe he will have a future at City. Nice lad and has helped by playing so many minutes recently, but needs taking out of the firing line asap, I don’t think I’ve ever seen him stop a cross coming in!

Can’t agree, I was there and he was hopeless. Never stopped a single cross.

He needs to improve but at 20 it doesn't mean that he cannot so he deserves more time to develop within the 1st team structure but not to be an integral part

At the same age David Silva had played about the same amount of minutes as Lewis, and still hadn't got a single assist.

David Silva was 20 in the 06/07 season, and had 9 goals and 7 assists in 3612 minutes. That's a goal involvement in 1/3 matches he has played in.

Some of the comments are a bit harsh on Rico and I include myself as I’ve been quick to criticise at times.

To be honest the issue is not Rico-Lewis it’s the performances of the players around him.

He is a decent enough player, no worse than Delph in the centurions season or Zinchenko (for a number of years) who played in the full back hybrid role.

Unfortunately instead of a 20 year old academy player, strengthening the squad, filling the gaps when players are injured were expecting him to be part of the solution to losing our Balon D’or winner in a side where most of the senior professionals have lost their form and energy levels.

The lad should not be expected to be the conductor of the orchestra, but playing the triangle in the background.

Huh? You mean Delph?

I think he's a lot better than both Delph and Zinchenko tbh.

It’s funny. The fanbase clamour for Pep to play academy players and when he does, all the boo boys come out to annihilate him

I think both Delph and Zinchenko were way better. Zinchenko offered a lot going forward, and Delph was really solid defensively.
Zinchenko offered precisely one moment of quality going forward in all the years he was with us, when he beat his man to set up Rodri's goal against Villa. That was great. But other than that, he was good at recycling possession and offered zero in terms of creativity. And I'm saying that as someone who really liked him.

And Delph was really competent and did a good job when we needed him - but nothing more.
