PL charge City for alleged breaches of financial rules

i imagine that when the case fails the PL will say that the allegations were made by their member clubs and they had no choice but to investigate. and of course refuse to name which clubs.

I thought Masters was distancing himself from everything by complimenting how Dharmash Mistry & Mai Fyfield have major roles.

Tbh I quite liked some of the comments made by the muen with regards to City -v- the PL

"this is the man leading the PL in the middle of a titanic legal battle with its defending champions, having lost a courtroom battle with the same club in recent months forcing a significant rule change.....

"Masters did reference the Profit and Sustainability Rules that require changing after City successfully proved the old version was against UK competition law.....

"There was no talk of the independent panel in the PSR case ruling so damningly against the Premier League (although their statement in response claimed a baffling victory so that isn't a surprise)

Lots of true stuff there
Agree.
Mainly pro-City and anti PL in tone which is a surprise for the MUEN and also that it was written by Joe Bray who is normally rightly criticised.

City should just continue to ignore the MEN and watch it continue its steep and undignified decline. It’s a joke best ignored.
I remember when I used to sit on the floor to be able to open it up - proper broadsheet- to read it.
Now? If I actually bought it I would only use it to line the bottom of the cats litter tray.

I truly wish that City would indeed treat them with the same contempt that they have shown us.

As Stefan says, yes it would. Unless the PL has evidence that we're not aware of, the related party question is potentially the only chink in our armour as far as the AD sponsorships are concerned. But it's a very, very small one.

And for the cynic in me, it's yet more corroboration that this isn't about the PL acting independently of its shareholders, nobly trying to ensure there is a level financial playing field in accordance with its rules and regulations. It's about our competitors trying to nail us in any small way they can.
1 billion percent!!!

Why are they only just coming out with this now, when it's been said on here and by Martin Samuels for years? But we were told we were paranoid.

Because these rules are now hurting utd? Therefore, they’re setting the narrative that they don’t serve the purpose for which they were intended, and consequently, need to be removed.
