Alot of heavy swallowing going on“Our job is to make clubs successful”.
Hmmm.
Alot of heavy swallowing going on
Tbh I quite liked some of the comments made by the muen with regards to City -v- the PL
"this is the man leading the PL in the middle of a titanic legal battle with its defending champions, having lost a courtroom battle with the same club in recent months forcing a significant rule change.....
"Masters did reference the Profit and Sustainability Rules that require changing after City successfully proved the old version was against UK competition law.....
"There was no talk of the independent panel in the PSR case ruling so damningly against the Premier League (although their statement in response claimed a baffling victory so that isn't a surprise)
Lots of true stuff there
I thought Masters was distancing himself from everything by complimenting how Dharmash Mistry & Mai Fyfield have major roles.
“Our job is to make clubs successful”.
Hmmm.
Is that really their job.
It wasn't 6.
“Our job is to make the redshirts successful.”“Our job is to make clubs successful”.
Hmmm.
It's a strange thing to say. Again.
His job is to make the league successful, nothing else. If the league is successful, he has given the clubs the environment to be successful but then it's up to them.
Unless he knows full well what his job is and he meant to say "our job is to make some clubs successful".
The role of the PL:
1. To organise a league competition.
2. To maximise the income of the PL by selling broadcasting rights to that competition all round the world.
3. To distribute the income fairly amongst the clubs, cynically avoiding the need to fund other levels of the football pyramid where possible.
4. To create rules which preserve the pre-eminence of the redshirts and punish any club who dares to challenge them.
5. To instruct referees on who we want to win the league.
6. To waste huge sums on legal wild goose chases.
Good of Masters to agree to do a TV interview with Jack Sullivan, a board member of a PL club. Maybe one of ours could interview him next time?
Don't need to show the trophy at all - that bit isn't contractual even if the ribbons areThat’s surely contractual.
This is what I mentioned about the contrast of what the PL is dealing with. This is no doubt in the PL office - there are City's ribbons...
