I wouldn't fritter money away so that is a major positive. And I am very patient in getting the right deal and not easily distracted. And I would likely give the current set of players a fair chance to sort themselves out rather than sign for the sake of it. You can laugh all you want but I am not completely wrong either. A lot of pressure on Marmoush.

I assure you Ray, I appreciate your mindset.

He is good but will Frankfurt let him leave in January? Big big question mark. They can comfortably sell him for a big profit in the summer. Letting him go now will seriously damage their chance of winning a CL spot.

Scared he’s having an almighty purple patch like a lot of Bundesliga forwards do. Also, I’m assuming he gets a lot more space to run into than he would here.
Both trie. But pay attention to his close control and dribbling skilll. That should tell you if his talenteould translate.

No doubt, its a purple patch he is currently on. But is that a sign of fitire greatness or just a momentary flash on the pan ..

Considering his age, and technical skill, its a bet I'm willing to make. At worst, we get a more skillful Gabriel Jesus with more goals in him.

The boy can dribble; he turns defenders inside out. Whether he has space or not, he remains highly effective. Not everyone needs "space to run into"—some do just fine with whatever they have. Marmoush, Musiala, Nusa, and Kvara are all exceptional in tight spaces.
The Edon fella in the French league isnt half bad either.

I think its possible they could be open to selling. Considering he so far this season have massively overperformed his underlying numbers (13 goals from 7.5xG in the league) thats usually a good time to sell, since that conversion rate is very unlikely to be sustainable over time.

Still a player who would get them a big fee in the summer even if his scoring drops off to reasonable levels, but one could argue the best time to get a big fee is now.

Guess it depends on how much they need the money, and what the player himself wants. But I absolutely think it's a deal that could happen.

Is he a striker or a ‘forward’? If the latter, I’m not too fussed about purple patches because his whole game wouldn’t be based wholly on goal scoring. Like if Mahrez had a purple patch when he was here etc.

As long as he brings youthful energy to the team along with quality in all areas of his game then he’s a no brainer.

Looks like he can play anywhere across the front.

I am not so sure. He needs time to fully acclimatise. We have a few more of our current players returning to their oldselves. The plus he is seem relatively cheap.
This is an assumption. There is no evidence of it as of yet. We can hope it comes, but both you and I are just hoping.

Nothing i have seen from Kev, Phil, Gundogs or Bernardo suggests they'd be bsck to the form of 2 yrars ago any time soon... Nothing!

I hope they will, but there has been no evidence of it. They are all exceptional players and have all shown fleeting moments of great play. But it is all so few and far in between. Its not evidence of a return.

Marmoush is just as needed as a DM or CB. We need fresh options. And he looks a special one.

Quick feet, pace, goal threat and huge potential, what's not to like and he has everything we lack in our side.

None of our veterans are going to regain form or fitness, there time is over and time to move on for a lot of their fans on here.

Maybe pep read my comment on here about us moving to 3-5-2 and planning on having haaland and marmoush up front.

Not mentioning some players playing in the French League, was me being lazy. I was thinking about adding few names from Ligue 1, but I just did not want to make a long post. The are some very talented players there, that would fit in with what I described.

Don't really trust any attacker from the Bundesliga unless they have a lot of consistent goals across multiple seasons (like a Lewandowski) or just a freak like Haaland

But he passes the eye test, looks quick, skillful, direct and has good end product

Whether that translates from the league or if this is just a blip in his run of form we will only know after we've bought him, but we are so rubbish atm it can't really hurt and his ability to play multiple positions is what we've lost in Alvarez

But the Bundesliga thing does worry me in regard to overinflating his attacking numbers

Mainly a striker but has and can play across a number of attacking positions.

I’m not sure “the Bundesliga thing” even exists. People have PTSD over Werner even though he wasn’t our player, yet the Bundesliga has probably been the league we’ve bought best from. I can’t even think of a flop we’ve had from there.

De Bruyne, Sané, Haaland, Gvardiol, Dzeko, Gundogan, Kompany, Akanji, Ortega

The Bundesliga has been a near 100% success for us and our transfers.
