West Ham (H) | PL | Post Match Thread

That felt just like the Leicester game. Pretty unconvincing performance but three important points.

We actually made West Ham look good which is very hard to do.

On to the next one.

Interviewer looked like she was stirring it to me tbh with that question post match.
Were the team really getting that much stick at the game today?
No really. There were a few groans when we gave the ball away needlessly as you'd expect, but the crowd were pretty supportive most of the time.
It was about 2°C but felt like -5°C so most were more concerned about avoiding hypothermia.

Some players have lost the hunger and have become entitled. It happens. We thank them and move them on.

Rodri is obviously a huge loss but if anything it has highlighted those players who have come to the end of the road with us.
I honestly don't think the players have lost their hunger & desire. I think it's a plain case of many in the 30+ age bracket just can't do the superhuman pressing from the front, & getting back to defend with the physicality they used to.

Ole Father Time has caught us with our ageing squad & we don't have the requisite quality of younger players to replace peak KDB, Gundog, Bernardo, Walker, Stones & Aké. This is at the centre of our loss of confidence, & it's evident that big change is needed.

On another note, it's games like this that make me wonder what could've been if we'd got Paqueta. He was the standout player for WHU, & would definitely make a huge difference to our Rodri-less midfield.

I love bluemoon after our recent run its the only place in the world ud find a 4-1 victory complained about because the performance wasnt great lol, before the match most of us would have took a 1-0 scrappy win as something to build on (check the pre match thread) and while i admit it wasnt the best, we had another 2 haaland goals, a foden goal, savinho putting in another good showing , no further injuries (thank god) so despite not a great performance, nt all bad.

We can only beat what is in front of us, thankfully that was West Ham today. They are utterly shite and will probably give their manager the boot today or tomorrow. Worryingly though, they had 17 (seventeen) shots against us today and seemed to get through our midfield with relative ease. Good job they’re shite because a decent side would have punished us today.

Savinho a massive improvement again, playing on the left gives him less to think about out and it suits him. Long may it continue.

Haaland better again today which is great to see and Rico had a good game. Great to see us take some chances and lovely to see us move the ball forwards.

The subs killed us, especially Walker. He was way off it at all times. Gained a bit of control again when Jack and James came on.

Big positive, it’s the points that matter at the minute but we’re still very weak defensively. Let’s hope we have some reinforcements coming our way this week

Don’t really get the negativity. We have remembered how to score again. Yes we were lucky that they didn’t put more past us but in life you need a bit of luck. Where we played well we played well, where we played badly it was still an improvement on the slump. I came home happy. CTID.

Happy with the scoreline + Haaland and Savinho heating up.

Feels like confidence is slowly creeping back in and loved the control we had once Jack was on the pitch. Walker was shite and Gundo struggled as expected. Hated Bernie’s giveaway leading to their goal - just bad mistakes

Pep surely must have seen enough of Walker now to realise that he simply can’t play him again this season.

some people just don't get it ?
The result was hard earned and we had to dig in at times that's football
Everyone gets it. Everyone knows that results are all important at the mo. We all get that.

But we can all see that the result TOTALLY flattered us today and that we could have been 2 down and facing big problems if west ham could hit a cows arse with a banjo.
The ease with which a struggling west ham got behind us repeatedly is of huge concern. Our defence is SHOT and a team with a hslf decent striker would have stuck 3-4 past us today.

And its ok to say that. Doesnt make you a huge blue to not have these concerns.
