West Ham (H) | PL | Post Match Thread

He got all that Lord of the Rings out before someone said something hahahahw Course mate!

Assuming that’s how you feel about him if you’ve gone to the effort to make all that up?
Shut up, you cretin. Don’t ask the fucking question if you’re not going to take on board or like the fucking answer. Do you think I spend my fucking time making shit up on the internet?

The MOTD analysis was surprisingly spot on. Everyone to slow in the press; Kovacic not aware enough/over eager in his press; no legs in midfield.

Also, what was Bernardo doing for their goal? Fluffed the pass, stayed in the defensive line rather than step into midfield and then left Fullkrug to run off him. Piss poor
danny murphy is a decent analyist.

I was sat nearby in 105. The lad shouted something along the lines of, ‘Oi Walker you ****, don’t moan at McAtee that was your fucking fault, you prick… the pass was shit you ****… you’ve been shit for months… driving up and down the country to see all your kids instead of concreting on football, fuck off, you prick’.

A few around him shouted, ‘woah woah’ ‘eyar pack it in mate’.

De Bruyne shouted, ‘oh, stop, oh’.

Walker didn’t react.
Knobs.

Can’t stand people who go the ground to abuse our players like that. Is it the gear? Leave the dressing downs to Pep FFS
Agree. What’s worse is the fans sat nearby that don’t say anything to the fan.

Wonder if it’s classed as 1-1 now

Sorry mate, don’t get your point?
My point was that we were never in a position to see those players as worthy improvements to the squad until very recently. I agree that they would all be a vast improvement compared to what we've watched for the past few months, but would we have made a move for them before the shit hit the fan? The alarm bells were ringing for much of last season but nobody at the club appeared to do anything about it.

Can understand why people might not want to get too involved as if you sit near someone week in week out you don’t need fallouts. But players aren’t robots and ours deserve respect even if they’re on a bad run. At least to their faces lol

Wow. So not just 'boo', then.

I presume the new tactic of hoofing a goal kick out of play somewhere near Pep is because we don't trust ourselves to play out from the back.

We really are in strange times.
Hart got fucked off for doing that mind he couldn’t do much else with his distribution capability

I hate abusive fans. Some are football cretins, or just not right people, unfortunately some are high as a kite

Footballers with the career of Kyle won't give a fuck though. They do not generally have a high regard for supporters, why would they listening to a tirade of abuse as you describe.

The gaps in midfield when West Ham attacked City and could and should have scored are highlighted by Match Of The Day. Video.

It was the same at Leicester. We weren’t really punished by either side.

I think Leicester and West Ham had more attacks and opportunities to score than Spurs did when they beat us 0-4. Both Leicester and West Ham squandered their opportunities. West Ham, especially, often didn’t even get a shot off or they chose the wrong pass at the end.

Better teams get those opportunities right, so I can see why Pep was more damning in his post-match press conference than he was during that long run without wins.

Take the first halves against Sporting and Brighton. We were miles better then than we have been in the last two wins.

Putting the ball in the net makes the world of difference.

Kev made a tackle in the midfield during the first half yesterday and it got the whole stadium riled up. Just the simplicity of a big, strong challenge on the back of a press.

It’s something we’ve missed all season. Getting somebody who excels in that area (Bruno, Ederson, …?) is a must. Both for the benefit of the team and just to kick new life into the club.
He also saved us right on half time with a tackle on the edge of our box.

Well if someone has said that they aren’t a City fan and should be ashamed
Have they forgotten all the good times these players have given us

Yes we have major problems in the squad and we are not controlling the game as we did, Injuries and form and players are coming to their sell-by date sadly so we have to get used to teams fancying a bit of us at the moment

Like I said earlier we are not in the title race and we need fixing, So we have to find another way of winning, how many teams have parked the bus and won ugly against us over the years, I have seen City batter teams only for them to score on the break and win the game, Yes better teams will hurt you, but even Pep knows to double up in the midfield holding role and dig in,

The truth is we all knew this was coming and you can not keep winning titles and cups and play in the Champions League for so many years and not have a down period,

The rule changes have stopped us from adding 3 or 4 more world-class players in every window, We uses to have a squad of 25 to rotate and the days of City having a very Good 2nd team on the bench has gone,

But we have all the right people running the club and the right manager in Pep and when Pep hurts we all hurt with him, We will be back and ready for another go in the near future

Delighted we won but we ain’t moving in the right direction with that performance. Could easily have been two down in the first few minutes, only a bizarre ref decision stopped them having a one on one . They cut through us with such ease it was embarrassing at times .
The willingness of the forward and wide players to run back was non existent.
We were much better upfront than they were though, and that can never be a bad thing ...... okay, West Ham may have created one or two more chances than we did, but they only managed to score a consolation goal near the end, which did them no favours whatsoever ...... City were clinical yesterday, and that made all the difference after the chances we've been missing in recent months.

As long as we are getting maximum points from games, as we have against Leicester and West Ham, then we HAVE to be progressing on some of the pityful City performances that we've been witnessing in the past few months .... i do take your point about our opposition missing chances, but even if our defence was absolutely 'rock solid', what good would it be if we couldn't actually score goals ourselves at the other end????

Akanji is struggling, Ake solid as always but probably playing within himself to avoid yet another hamstring injury, Walker is in the twilight, as are Kev and Gundog. Kovacic is decent but hasn’t got the legs to get back, he needs to sit in midfield like Rodri did. We need Dias back and support for Kovacic in midfield, and also get a full back with premier League experience to cover for Walker. Lewis is a decent player, but not a full back.
