Musk's comments/proposals on the importance of bringing in H1B immigrants to the US has created a split in the Trump base. They started doubting Musk in terms of his commitment to "America First" or the idea that the US shouldn't import more workers from abroad. Musk has attached himself to Trump in such a way whereby any reflection on him is a reflection on Trump.

He failed their purity test. So instead of trying to win the argument, he's done a few things including banning a ton of critics but more importantly has shifted the conversation away from his controversial ideas on H1B to "Muslim rape gangs". Of course he couldn't target the US with this for fear of being labelled a negative influence so he has dredged up some horrific events in our recent history, told half the story, and then the Trump base is back on board.

This is an extremely obvious play and I'm not sure why others cannot see this for what it is - it's an attempt to repair the fractures on the US right and has nothing to do with the UK in the higher level.

Musk is quite clearly a racist, his political interventions are almost always shit stiring in issues that white supremacists love to keep on the agenda. That's my conclusion.

Can you explain why this racist has just gone to war with his own base in order to bring more non-white people into America? That seems a strange hill to die on for a racist.

And even if Musk is a racist, that doesn't mean everything he says ever is wrong. I struggle to see how people can function on this planet and think like this.
Morally bad people can have good and thoughtful ideas too, just not on the issues that they're morally bad on. Ideas are ideas, their truth value isn't determined by who said them.

Money - he has loads and like most rich people he wants more. He can get a highly qualified Indian to work for him and pay them less simply because they are grateful to get a visa to the USA - a redneck farmer lacks the qualifications and ability and a US graduate would expect higher pay and more benefits to do the work.

I know the visa scheme he has defended very well as I work for an American company and moving there on a H1B is something many of my colleagues have done and something I could do.

Those visas allow you to live and work in the US subject to you keeping the job that allowed you to get the visa. You can't quit and you are in a very strange work relationship where getting fired also means getting deported. It's very difficult to move jobs to another firm.

So when musk bought Twitter and started ripping the guts out of the organisation he knew all the employees on H1B would not quit. I'd also bet they are paid circa 50% of the wages for us citizens in the same roles. its like a two tier system, something as a south African Musk will be familiar with. So yeah he likes those visas.

This is just a simple case of the interests of the billionaires being prioritised over the maga base. This will no doubt become a theme of the Trump presidency.

Fred West probably has some good advice on the construction of patios. Doesn't mean we should all have to talk about it.

I'd say he's most likely not a racist, but he's using racism for his own benefit when it suits him. Which is why there is inevitably a lack of consistency in his position when the racist shit he stirs up threatens his profit margins. A lot of people spread racist shit with an element of plausible deniability so that when it inevitably leads to racist actions that are beyond the pale, they distance themselves from the consequences. See also: Farage, Braverman, Patel and the Southport riots. Are they racist, or are they just spreading racism to benefit themselves? Does it actually matter?

Having worked with various south africans over the years and seeing what he has done with Twitter I would suggest he is 100% a racist and white supremacist.

If he found a new method or idea of how to create patios cheaper and quicker but to the same standards as industry then we should absolutely listen, digest and adapt.

Reputation matters though. You might think in principle that what you are saying is correct, but he wouldn’t be listened to for his patio building.

If Prince Andrew did a series of Xmas lectures, his audience would be minuscule, but full of cranks trying to find an edgy angle to create clicks and content for people to engage with.
