Seat Counters - 2024/25

c.1600 seats left online for Salford.

I accept I’m jumping the gun a bit as there is another 5 days to go until the match, so the tickets should sell out by then, but even with the tickets being affordable and cheap, to still have 1600 tickets left for sale is a bit strange. Block 328 in the CBS has 153 tickets left priced at £15 for adults and £5 for kids. A family of 4 could watch the match for £40.

It's mainly because once you stop going to the football due to being priced out you get out of the habit of going. I know many friends who wouldn't go to the Etihad if it was free because it's unusual for them nowadays, sad state of affairs and the club have only got themselves to blame for it.

I totally agree.

You can make up all kind of arguments if you like, but the data says the exact opposite. When we left Maine Rd, our FA Cup crowds were c.25k, now they are 50k in an era of saturated football coverage where the FA Cup is a 3rd rate competition after the PL and CL.

I agree with arguments for affordability but don't make up arguments about declining attendances because that's simply not the case.

Its on the BBC as well, which will hit numbers attending.
Wonder how many of the class of 92 will be pundits ?
Will be amazed if City get a representative ?

A fair point.
But football crowds have increased across the board, with bigger stadiums and more families attending.
Agree that 50k plus is an excellent crowd, but would imagine at least 4 clubs would better this, albeit with bigger stadiums...

Probably go with a neutral with links to both clubs. Giggsy it is then.

Hope he brings along the Fridge his Mam received as a signing-on fee, from the Trafford Termites...

They’ve actually just this minute released the full guest line up.

Giggsy
Neville G
John Virgo
John Cooper Clarke
Sir Ben Kingsley
LS Lowry
Christopher Eccleston
Tony Wilson
Mike Sweeney

And to make sure there’s no suggestion of favouritism, from Manchester…. Nicky Butt.

As soon as you put a ticket on the exchange for the big matches the club will purchase it and then hand it onto one of their accredited partners.
They will be getting a percentage of the mark up.
Its a favoured strategy of business's.

The low/no cost accumaltion of profit through multiple, repeat marginal gains.

Thousands of small(ish) sums multiplied by thousands of repeat events multiplied by multiple years of strategy = a big number !!

Genuine question. What is your explanation as to how 8 barcelona fans got a row of seats next to each other in our away end at anfield. How can this not be through the club?
I've no idea but I would guess they knew someone who worked at City, probably a player or a coach. Who got them comps from their allocation.
