Strictly speaking we have only two "proper" wingers + Grealish. The rest are versatile enough to play wide. So I wouldn't be surprised if we were planning to get another winger. But, I suspect he would be used as a striker or SS, not as another "adequate" winger.

Having said that I'm uncertain about this particular rumour. We should have known that he was not interested in leaving Frankfurt in winter. Besides, allegedly he's been keen on playing for the scousers. So why this rumour be out in the media now? (Txiki wouldn't be involved in summer signings, anyway.)

Sums it up really.

It's something that's been said since the departures of the likes of Sterling and Mahrez who constantly chipped in with goals.

I know Foden had a great goalscoring season last season, The team in general lack goals, Haaland is our top scorer this season and after him it's our left back Gvardiol...

Hopefully it's a deal we can get done this month.
 
Fjortoft is quite obviously pedalling whatever Eintracht are telling him to. He’s gone from ‘not for sale’ to ‘for sale at the right price’ inside 48 hours.

Promising, really. But I presume we’ll do what we did with Mahrez in 2018 and bide our time until Summer for a cheaper fee.

The right decision given the current circumstances? Not sure. But I’d (personally) rather wrap up a pacy centre back and an energetic centre midfielder before an attacker.

Have we not learned our lesson with relying on one player to play near enough every game in a crucial position? Haaland cannot be rinsed out like Rodri was.

I believe Bobb was considered the in house replacement for Julian, but his injury, recovery time & the time it'll take him to become match fit & to rediscover his form effectively means he's out for the majority of this season.

We'd be making this calamitous season a whole lot worse, if god forbid anything was to happen to Erling, because he too was rinsed out. Rodri was our warning!

It never really made sense that story yesterday about us drawing up a contract for him but then waiting till summer to actually try and buy him. He could double his goal tally between now and summer and suddenly he becomes the hottest property of the summer. Need to get him in now.
 
It's quite a unique situation we find ourselves in, as bad as we've been over the past few months we are still within touching distance of top 4..and whilst It's easy to be cynical about the Jan window there does seem to be a glimmer of hope that we are going to make some meaningful additions..

Our problem is and still remains, whether we sign this bloke or not???

Conceding soft goals !!!!

And no proper CDM’s, to stop the counter attacks!!!???

Can we address the CDM. ,LB & RB issues first, please!!!????

bar haaland we have no goal threat in our midfiled and atrack so yes we lack goals

half the games we have fucked up defensively.late on we should have converted 3-4 chances or opportunities and been in no danger of losing games.

we do ned a RB, CB and DM but we also need another option bar haaland
