Mitchell and Webb was actually criminally underrated. They were so adept at conceiving, writing and performing the comically bizarre.

Like the BBC’s coverage of Kath’s funeral!
Along with "A BIt of Fry and Laurie", one of the few sketch shows I can regularly rewatch. They seemed to be their natural heirs to that particular throne. Or unashamed rip-offs as your generosity may decide.

Had a quick rewatch of these two gems earlier following @johnevans post:

I especially like David Mitchell who like me punches well above his weight with the opposite sex :-)

wtf is this on Bbc one? A nauseating hour on the working class story of Alex Ferguson that ive seen a million times before with all the old boys trotted out to tell stories.

Feeding member berries to the nostalgic United fans is a whole fucking industry now. Class of 92, Siralex documentaries, the ‘premier league’ documentary from a few years ago which ended up about man united for 80% of it, the overlap podcast, butty and scholesy telling stories on their podcast, the whole of TNT Sports coverage, Sky Sports post match united analysis with Keano and Nevs

it never fucking ends!

It’s saturation coverage and convinces young impressionable kids that they are still a big club and even more so still relevant and challenging for trophies..
Here’s an example had Sky Sports news on the paper talk with winter and ladyman, rightly talked about Newcastle and arsenal, then covered the musk Liverpool buy out nonsense, waxed lyrical over mainoo and him being up for sale, going to a break we will talk more transfers including Man City interest in the Egyptian player.Ad break straight onto the fantastic rashford and how it will be good for him to go on loan to one of the giants of Europe chasing him, wants to get back in England side then that was it no talking about City transfer rumours..all catering to rag and red scousers..

I believe we are only being shown live on Saturday because of the class of 92 connection. The BBC cannot help themselves
