I think the point is most of it isn't journalism these days, or at least not as an FOC like me would understand it. Media now work to different business models that give rise to different roles and purposes but anachronistically people keep the old job title because it sounds more legit than saying you work in marketing and sales. I'm sure most of us could think of a few more accurate job titles.
