I reckon Rodri's just going to stroll out and play the full 90 minutes like he was never injured and then play every minute of every game and lead us to the treble.
 
The original story of Khusanov, Marmoush & Ederson seems to be correct so far (with the addition of Reis) so I have no reason to doubt we’ll see a concrete move for Ederson next. Luiz on loan would be a good signing though as well.
 
We don't need, and obviously won't find, a replacement for Rodri. We just need somebody who knows what they are doing in midfield, can protect the defence a little and put in shift.

As others have said, our CBs have been an injury nightmare this season. if we can get one or two CBs in who are used to playing first team football, then that should give us a level of depth that, due to injury, we are lacking. Great though they both are, surely one of Stones or Ake will have to leave in the summer?

If we can get somebody who's a bit different up front and can take the load off Haaland, that would complete amazing window for us.

I've never seen any of these guys play either, but it's more the the principle of getting bodies in to give us a lift that is important. If one of two of them go on to become a major part of our future success, that's a bonus.

I'm quite excited to see how our non-Galacticos turn out :)

That isn't all we need as a Rodri replacement though, our whole way of playing out from the back depends on the CDM having the ability,to receive the ball from the keeper and centre backe ,on the half turn and play through the pitch to the attackers,plus knowing when to drop in between the centre backs. Just being a pure DM protecting the defence is no good to us.

I'm sure the recruitment team will be ticking those important boxes as well. My point was that he doesn't have to be a world-beater, just somebody who knows what he's doing in that position. I'm sure Pep will be able to add those extra bits to his game over the next month or so.
 
In the summer I would like to see one or 2 high quality British players come in as we see the old guard start to move on. Gordon would certainly be on the list if they fail to get CL.

Nail on the head it isn't about legs it's about being able to position himself to break attacks up being comfortable receiving the ball in tight areas and being able to play 1 or 2 touch football. This will free kovacic up to be the proper presser from the 8 position which is badly missing atm.

While he’s not a bad player, he has a face like a slapped arse that you want to punch but have no reason as to why…plus he’s a whiney git…we have better…

Gordon has Liverpool player written all over him.
 
I dont mind Luiz as a stop gap DM signing for backup to Rodri.

In this way the club can potentially wait a little bit to monitor more DMs, Rodri will be 29 next year.

And while he still easily has 5 more years left, you dont wanna wait until he is past it to find his replacement.

Probably in like 3 years we will wanna sign the next big talents for this role, so buying Luiz can delay this as we currently just need a good backup and not an immediate starter.
