Vitor Reis | £29.4m deal agreed (p43)

Reckon the summer thing is more about trying to get a few extra million off us, i'm sure the clubs will come to some agreement and he'll be here this month.
Brighton made 3 offers, previous 2 rejected, last one thought to be around €29m euros. Palmeiras wanted €30m euros. We jumped in and made a proposal above Palmeiras asking price to include bonuses, and on the agreement he is released this month asap. Palmeiras were shocked as not expecting this proposal as they wanted Reis to stay until after CWC in summer. Secretly they are overjoyed what we offered from accounts i read, but with it being City’s first proposal thought they could get more and so they pushed back. They know City’s offer is a good one, but they do have a €100m Euro buyout clause for him also. I think the CWC they think his price may go up higher as he will be up against Messi.

Palmeiras have stated they want to be seen like European clubs and deal in the same markets as them and treated like a European club.

Real Madrid had been interested but walked away at the €30m asking price.

NB: I have put prices in euros as all the reports I have seen seem to include Euros and/or Brazilian Reals.

Not at all the kid is fearless he's playing in what is currently a very poor low on confidence team. But he always shows for the ball and is fearless in his challenges. He maybe needs to strengthen up but I just don't get the hate towards him. Let's judge in a couple of years if he hasn't progressed.
The lad is ok. But he isn't very clued up in finding space. He follows the opposition around alot and that is when we have the ball

How on earth have you come to that conclusion? ‘Clearly thinks he’s not up to standard’.

He wouldn’t be playing him or in the squad if he thought that

In the worst injury crisis ever he would rather give a washed Walker minutes .

The minutes he played were poor .

If he was signed as a 19 year old the majority of people would have that opinion .

The academy is different.

Hope all of them fuck themselves
That ornstein comment is nonsensical. Regardless of who signs him, the others will be frustrated. If they really wanted him, they could have offered more or done more. It's not like once we roll into town, everybody walks with their tails between their legs. Ask Fred and Sanchez who they signed for.
