Seat Counters - 2024/25

A friend in work who isn’t into football is taking his 10 year old son who is a City fan. They’ve got tickets in the Salford end. He said his son was really excited and can’t wait to see City play at Etihad for the first time.His favourite player is, you guessed it, Haaland.

Either way it's a fantastic effort.

A few weeks ago when this didn't look like selling out, many people came on here claiming that this proves ticket prices doesn't impact attendance. It should be clear to them now that ticket prices do massively impact attendance.

To be fair a few weeks ago was just before Christmas. I think this game was always going to sell out. It’s because of the ticket prices.

It’ll be full of locals, families and people would be at city more, if it was affordable

Yeah agreed mate. And this isn't just hindsight from me because I said in the week before Christmas, when there were still 15k to sell, that this would sell out.

I think what this shows is that cheap tickets makes games way more accessible to locals who maybe leave it later to make plans

Sheff United attendance was a pitiful 6000 last night and their tickets were £15 adults and £5 kids so doesn’t always work!
Not sure if a protest going on or just a combination of Thursday night, crap weather and disinterest in the FA Cup. Loads of empties at Fulham too.

The Cardiff City support was reduced as it was Iive on BBC Wales.
It was also live on BBC IPlayer, though not well advertised.
In fairness to both teams' fans, they both knew the line up would only have a couple of first team starters.
Sheffield United are desperate to get back into the Premier League, so probably weren't arsed about the game ?
Cardiff are in a relegation place, so also probably were not really bothered.
The major plus for Cardiff though, was 10 players under the are of 23 played, which gives major encouragement to the fans...

Happens all over Europe. The reason Manchester is exempt from early European Kick offs I believe is our Manchester traffic. Police and Council don't want it.
I stand to be corrected.

I was under the impression that it was a time zone thing. So countries that are (+1) time the 5:45 kick offs are 6:45 which is more manageable.

Whereas countries which use GMT such as UK and Portugal, don't get assigned 5:45 kickoffs at home?

I could be completely wide of the mark on that one

The game I’m referring to wasn’t a 5:45 KO. It was 5pm. Madness then and would be madness now. People still at work at that time.
