Seat Counters - 2024/25

The game I’m referring to wasn’t a 5:45 KO. It was 5pm. Madness then and would be madness now. People still at work at that time.
Yes I remember, I was just pointing to the potential reasoning as to why that doesn't happen anymore.

Really anything before 7pm on a weekday is absolutely ridiculous

The reason for that one was both City & united had 2nd leg home times in the Europa League. One of us had to be moved to Wednesday and we got the short straw.

The 5pm kick off was because UEFA would not allow a clash with Champions League knockout games that were happening that night for broadcasting reasons.

The ground gradually got more and more full as the 1st half went on. And we scored after 19 seconds!

I was under the impression that it was a time zone thing. So countries that are (+1) time the 5:45 kick offs are 6:45 which is more manageable.

Whereas countries which use GMT such as UK and Portugal, don't get assigned 5:45 kickoffs at home?

I could be completely wide of the mark on that one
Is the correct answer

I know mate… I was there. Had a meeting in London at 1pm, set off driving at 1:30 and got in just as Kun scored.

It was 5 rather than 5-45 as it was a second leg game and could have gone to ET and pens. The whole game had to be well out the way before the 8 o'clock games.
Two of us left work in Royton just before half four and may well have ignored a couple of speed limits to be in by kick-off.

I went on Tottenhams ticket website today to try and see what Allocation they were given at Tamworth, and I was shocked to see that they have an actual breakdown of how many people fall into each points category. How I'd love something like that at City, although we all know why they won't!

Half of their season ticket holders in one bracket. I bet they are the ones who signed up when they moved stadiums.

Still a stupid time to KO, whatever the reasons.

I'm sure that bracket will consist of plenty of people who go to home games religiously, but aren't particularly fussed about away games.

I'd say our equivalent of that is people between 8k and 16k points, where away ticket sales always slow right down

What was their criteria for Tamworth away do you know ?

You mean pretty much every ticket went to an actual fan, not a third party, not a sponsor, not ticket office employees to pass / sell on? If only we could follow their lead.
The truth is if they released those numbers for us, it would completely expose the fact that they've not been allocating away ticket fairly

I do wonder if City fans could do a group legal action along with the FSA against the club for the allocation of away tickets.

I would guess by changing the criteria for ticket sales, City have broken a contract with the fans as stakeholders. Especially as/if away tickets are now being sold to 3rd Party agencies, rather than allocated through the points system.

I’d be interested if 1894 took the case to the FSA and sought their legal advice on the situation. The PR alone may make City reconsider how they allocate tickets.

I'm not really sure about the legalities of all of this, whether what they're doing is Illegal or just Immoral.

The one thing where there could be a legal claim, is the fact that the club still happily take £50 from us each year for Platinum, telling us it'll get us closer to away tickets. But then they siphon off more and more tickets, so you don't actually get closer and in some cases you get further away.

This is the equivalent of selling raffle tickets, only to give the prize to someone who wasn't even in the raffle. That's how it feels as a fan buying Platinum.

It will be interesting to see where the Leyton Orient away tickets end up.(if Leyton Orient beat Derby?) Any tickets that end up on ticket touting websites should be bought back by the club and those people trying to sell those tickets should be banned from having away tickets for life. Over to you ticket compliance manager.
