It’s tricky we just need someone more mobile and assertive than Kov and Gundo. They are both great on short spaces but don’t have the composure and control.

When Rodri is back it’s easy to say we’ll be fine but he might not be 100% for a while. I don’t mind Kov as a makeshift 6 but the players around him aren’t helping either. Bever thought I’d be disappointed in a Bernado performance he normally runs for days and days and is so good on the ball but he’s off it this year.

Our Rodri backup is Kov as a 6/8 and we replaced Gundo as season too late with Gundo who doesn’t look as sharp.
 
I`d like to think that we have had a go at the likes of Baena, Valera, Nico Gonzalez or Palacios?

And the 2 defenders we're close to signing? Replacements for inevitable departures this window and the summer? Overall strengthening of the squad?

All our major players are definitely feeling it after last season's exertion of chasing the elusive 4 in a row. Pep could start to use the EDS midfield players more rather than spend in this window.

I don't know what you mean exactly, but you said that we need more than 1 or 2 and I've demonstrated that (in my view) just adding 1 or 2 will make us title challengers again.

I'm glad we're signing a couple of young defenders but I doubt they'll make much this season or next (and they won't have to, if we sign a quality CM)

For a DM many have said we might struggle due to Rodri coming back and players realise that he will be number 1 when he’s back.

But we can’t continue with Kova or Gundo. They have no legs.

Now as we know in our team a DM is quite an important position but we don’t have to spend £80 odd mil.

I’d bring in D.Luiz. He’s trained with Pep many times so knows what’s expected. We wouldn’t need him long term and he gets about the pitch better than Gundo so be a no brainier for me on loan.

There is no leader at the back there. Dias is the nearest but looks below par when Stones is missing. Stones is our best defender by miles but who knows when/ if he will ever be back? The 2 new centre backs are unlikely to be ready this season or maybe even next.
The reason we are targeted down our flanks is the lack of functional fullbacks. I think there is a player in Gvaudiol but he is not a full back and it shows every week. With Walker out of the door we really need a right back too.
There is a lot of work to be done with this team before we get back to challenging at the top again. I don’t see it happening next season as it will be Pep’s last.
It’s not totally doom and gloom but it’s clear we need an overhaul. I’m sure the club knows this. It may even take the form of a new playing style (with or without Pep). This may explain the reluctance to sign a Rodri type midfielder.

I'll tell you exactly what I mean. The team needs a refresh. 1 or 2 replacements won't do it. There will be departures in the summer, maybe this window with KW. Those players who will inevitably leave for various reasons will be replaced. So in this window and the summer we may have 4-6 arrivals. It will not be 1 or 2. Look at Peps comments this week about the ageing squad situation.

Not a no brainer for Juventus though.

I think we'll see something happen late in January

I think we’ve looked at Luiz (Pep said about a loan target in a press conference) but they want an obligation after the loan so we’d be just buying him 6 months later. If we don’t want him long term then we wouldn’t pursue this move.

Which players will be leaving and replaced?

Walker? Already better without him.
Gundo? Needs replacing by the CM I mentioned
KDB? Might get another season but to be replaced by Marmoush anyway
Ederson? Already been dropped.

Anyone else?
