Ahh come on mate…the last 2 years has seen some serious incompetence and questionable decisions in squad management, hence why we’re scrambling to make these signings in Jan.

I just don't see it in those strong terms. The last two years we still did brilliantly.

I think last summer we messed up but only really been brought into focus because of the injuries to key players and ageing of players almost over night.

You may be right, but why would the club do that? It would literally be self sabotage at that point.
If pep thinks he can cope then the club will go with it. Just look at the summer. Pep felt we didn’t need more players and the club went with pep’s wishes.

To not have a proper Rodri replacement is negligent, even after he said himself the amount of game time he’s playing is ridiculous, also no backup striker. One injury to Haaland and the season is a complete disaster. They were willing to go into a 70 game season with just Savinho, it was only luck Gundo became available otherwise it would have been no one. I can’t help but view it in them strong terms.

“players ageing overnight” that’s ridiculous mate I mean it’s just impossible anyway, the club should of noticed this and acted on it, they see them/in contact everyday.

I’ve learnt to treat whatever Pep says to the press with a pinch of salt, no way he thought this team was enough IMO. But let’s say he did honestly think that, surely the last 3/4 months have shown him he was wrong and that the squad can’t go on like this especially that midfield, it’s getting rinsed every game. He even admitted he was wrong to be fair. Every game we should be conceding atleast 4. Top 6 is a major doubt, it would be ridiculous to not get a DM/Mid.

Rodri was moaning all last season that he was being overplayed, we did nothing.

Haaland is being overplayed, because we sold Alvarez, and then we did nothing.

I'm not sure running your best players into the ground, expecting them to play virtually every minute is anything other than a fuck up.

Some of this was entirely foreseeable.

No concrete links anywhere. I’m at the point now where I’m just expecting the 2 cbs and this fella.

If we were pursuing a cm it would have leaked by now. Either by the selling club, an agent or city. It isn’t happening imo
I’m slowly coming round to this train of thought.

I think the Philips and Nunes deals have given them PTSD. They’ve failed year on year to improve the midfield. I think it’s at the point now where they realise they need someone from the top shelf.

We had luck with the defence because we have plenty of experience there so we can incorporate some younger guys and ease them in. I don’t feel like we have that in midfield and realistically whoever we buy is probably going to start week in week out. Thrown in at the deep end.

Still it isn’t good enough and we need a midfielder asap, they’ve had time to prep this

You don't have replacements for Messi, Ronaldo, Haaland, or Rodri.

We bought wide forwards but they take time to adapt. They are very young. Bobb broke his leg.

If you lose vital players through injury, there isn't really much you can do.

No. It’s just that our other options aren’t good enough

Probably the only thing that would make sense. Surely there would still be links with their name being mentioned “Man City are monitoring…”. Are they even going to join with no CL is another question. Bold strategy. If your theory is true, who could it even be, who’s out there that is top drawer and realistically attainable though?

Regardless how good they are, you have backups… I can’t believe I have to argue this point.

You have 25 senior players. That's 2 players per position. City have Nico O'Reilly but chose to go with Gundogan when both Rodri and Kovacic were out.

If Ederson and Ortega got injured should we have a 3rd top keeper?

WUM surely. 2 per position..the issue is obviously that the back ups aren’t good enough, that’s the whole point in what we’re talking about here. Also doc who is the 2nd striker we have?

I don’t understand your point about the keepers?

Price Agreed?
I really hope so. We need him ASAP in our attack. Hopefully we get a good 6/8 hybrid to solve our s*** midfield, ASAP!
