Omar Marmoush

He can play on the wing. Alvarez wasn’t the best there really. Nor did he really excel (or have time to) in a specific area of his game. Marmoush has done this season and will continue to improve. Plus he can play a wider range of positions.
Fingers crossed he’s an upgrade on Alvarez

Marmoush is replacing kev, not on the wings not as an understudy to haaland, but as the link up attacking midfielder just behind the big fella.

That's what I reckon anyway

I think it’ll be Marmoush and another to replace Kev. 2 players to replace what Kev gives us.

Doku, McAtee and Grealish too

He must be really good …… because Alvarez was really good and this lad is going to cost the same amount we sold Alvarez for….

Surely keeping Alvarez would have been a simpler solution ?
This guy seems like a much better player than Alvarez. Don’t get me wrong, Alvarez isn’t bad, but he’s not the kind of player I’d lose sleep over. He’s just average.

Alvarez could only really play as a striker….we tried to shoehorn him and Haaland into the team by dropping him further back and it didn’t really work….according to reports Marmoush can play as an attacking midfielder, wide or upfront.

I liked Alvarez and obviously he was a great buy….but not great technically….but made up for it with a great attitude, none stop pressing and a decent finisher.

Alvarez wanted to leave. It's really that simple and we rarely keep a player that wants to go. The profit on him was very good and at the time with Bobb coming through we thought we could cope. Injuries put paid to that.

interesting if Frankfurt are holding out for more because we will probably walk away even though we desperately need him.

Marmoush is a definite upgrade. He can play in four positions(7,11, 10 and 9) and performs very well in all of them. Alvarez as a 10 was meh, and as a wide player, he was average. Marmoush, on the other hand, crushes it in every position he plays. Makes me wonder how he’d do as a left-back! ;)

Frankly that happens with any negotiation.

If those doing the deal are close but not yet agreed even they are not 100 percent sure until contract signed by the player and the 2 clubs.
I know someone who was chairman of a club, and somebody who is currently on the board of another club, so I'm quite aware.....I also know via them, how much shite and made up nonsense is spouted by 'journalists/Social media wannabes"...which is about 99% of it ;)
