My only concern about this Marmoush deal is where do we play him. We're stacked in the wide positions so can he be used as a central attacking mid as he's not replacing Erling up top. Will he end up being an Alvarez type signing, playing games here and there?

He's a direct replacement to Alvarez, so wherever Alvarez played, it's presumed to be where he will be deployed. So sometimes in the middle, behind Haaland. Or on the wings, with Kev/Foden in the middle.

I think Marmoush is more comfortable on the wings than Alvarez, so it'd be easier for him to fit into the side for starts than Alvarez did.

He probably have a say in all reinforcements joining now. And my guess is that he sees it as a positive that they are joining in January, meaning that by the summer they will be more settled in and the club having a better idea of what we can expect them to deliver.
