However, we have always had better players in those positions and Grealish has done nothing to suggest he could even get close to usurping them. He does have good control in tight spaces...(so does Doku, Sane Savinho, Oscar Bobb, Bernardo, Foden, David Silva, Berardo Silva and Mahrez - all equally as good if not better in some cases).
Excellent at bringing he ball from deep - unfortunately he had KDB, Gundo and even Kovacic who are better than him at this.
Vision to unlock defences - sorry - Ive never seen this from him on a regular basis...you dont have to be in a central position to make those passes - this supposed attribute is a not accurate...he is not good at unlocking defences and is worse than any of those mentioned above and others.
Leader? Kompany was a leader, Dias and Rodri are leaders. Gundo as well. Ive seen nothing to suggest Grealish is a leader of any sort
he is good at holding onto the ball, buying fouls and slowing the game down and helping maintain possession - but so are many others who have other skill sets that Grealish doesnt have

The reason we have not seen him in the central role is up to this season we have had way better than him for that central role. He has been lucky to be part of this team imho and many other players could have played the role he has.
Bet he’s shit hot on a pub crawl though

Well, as I've already implied, I respect your view but continue to disagree on the grounds that we'll never know whether Jack can resurrect a career that was so promising at Villa if he continues to be played in a position so unsuited to his best qualities. We'll just have to agree to disagree.
Yeah of course. I do completely agree he is more suited to the central position but he is not anywhere near better than any of the other options we have had previously there or more importantly moving foward.....

You didn't speak to his defensive work rate. Which is very high.

In watching him before we acquired him, i always thought he had very good vision for unlocking defenses. But somehow, i think that didn't come with him after the transfer. He is very basic with his passing.

Yep and we got £64m for Alvarez, everything else was potential add ons that definitely won't have been reached yet, if they ever are.

Alvarez is the rightful comparison. He's the one he's ultimately replacing as Haalands alternative as well as an option elsewhere and we're spending a similar amount. Alvarez made an impressive impact from the off, he's got some big shoes to fill.
so you decide to use Alvarez's fee without potential add-ons and compare it to Marmoush's fee with add ons? where is the logic in that?

Yes fair enough....he does work defensively hard and is disciplined in holding his position which helps in Peps structure....
