February will determine our season tbh as the league fixtures are horrid and - if we are lucky - we will also have a 2 legged European tie to negotiate.

League wise in Feb, with the midfield we currently have, you can easily see us losing all 4 games and that would kybosh any lingering hopes we had of a top 4 finish.

The key weakness of the squad, hold and central midfield, has yet to be addressed. Until it is talk of top 4 or any other achievement is pie in the sky as we can't beat good sides with old legs moving like they are dragging fridges behind them in the engine room - or in the case of the hold midf position, just having nothing there at all. Let's see if the club does anything on that front but the clock is very much ticking.

What about the other 4 games? Are we going to do a no show for them? At least the players will get a rest.

Good idea tbf. as those are L's anyway. minutes for fringe players if needed and for academy kids, same end result anyway

Normally Id be really confident of beating Chelsea and Newcastle at home......but this year we are going to have to step it up considerably from where we have been

Arsenal away in any season is very difficult

Scousers at home is another that could go any way in any season.

It's an absolutely brutal run with CL and FA Cup games in between.

This is a big IF...but IF we win all of those games. Are we back in the title race by the time we get to end Feb?

If we can get within 6 points of Liverpool with 6 games to go....its on. Their last 6 games....

The positives in our favours....

- Dias back from injury, the leader we've been lacking
- Others returning to and hitting top form and full fitness in the form of Haaland, Savinho, Foden, KDB, Doku.
- New player bounce. Competition for places INCREASES LEVELS
- Bobb on his way back to take pressure off other wide players
- Haaland and Pep new contracts
- Every other team keeps looking fallible and possibly fragile.
