Remind me...

I've asked that you put that idiot Dax on ignore numerous times.

And as it turns out, you agree that he's an unlikeable figure and a "nitwit" to boot.

Likely you'll agree that Dax will never, ever, change his mind on anything he posts.

So... remind me... why is it that you don't have him on ignore?
Gosh, the thread would be very thin if everyone just ignored Dax.

The trouble is, that the GOP point-of-view is fundamentally indefensible, built on bluster and lies.

If your reason for not ignoring the Daxes of the world is that otherwise you wouldn't have reason to post... well...

I would submit, otherwise. There's plenty of scope for political discussion in this thread without entertaining the nonsense offered up by the likes of Dax.

So the thread would just be posts about the indefensible MAGA stuff with lots of likes, and defences of it by Dax that everyone ignores...

Disagree.

There's a huge number of anti-Trump folks out there with widely divergent political views - from the Liz Cheney-right wing conservatives to the Bernie Sanders left wing progressives. There's huge scope for policy debate, free from the insane "alterative fact" lies, part-and-parcel of the MAGA rhetoric.

It would be a bit daft to silence Dax who seems to represent the thoughts of over 70 Miilion Americans and who's political party have just battered the Democrat’s. Let's be honest he's took more shit than anyone ( loads off me too). He's perfectly entitled to give it back however we all feel.

So, is it still worth moving to the US?

I’d pay a fucking shedload less tax than I’ll be facing here.

But I’m slightly scared of being randomly shot by some **** with a giant pick-up truck and semi-automatic rifle.

Maybe it’s better to go and live in France?

I think it would be great if the dems stormed the ratunda shouting "stop the steal, this election was stolen" Also shouting "Save America again"

That's like an American saying they'd love to live in the UK but they'll be stabbed and their daughter will be kidnapped by Muslim rape gangs.

Do you think that's a fair reflection of your day to day life in the UK?

The US is one of the richest and most tolerant countries in the world. It isn't Mad Max. Not even Texas.

Because though normally I ignore panhandlers, there are times I give them money.

Texas is lovely. Some of the nicest people I've ever come across in my life. :)

Good, that’s reassuring. We like a quiet life.

Pre-emptively pardoning people who have done the right thing and are innocent because they're going to be attacked by people who are about to pardon those who have committed crimes. What a farce!

Pre-emptive pardons for Fauci and the J6 committee/staff/witnesses.

God knows what happens in 4 years time.
Is Trump going to commit new crimes to avenge those who called out his old crimes?

Trump only did a bit of light embezzlement and profiteering last time. Until he lost at the end. With all eyes on every move is he going to go there. Wont that get away in the new grift and serving the interests of the millionaire class he has pledged to surve. A fascinating and frightening time ahead.

This is the country supposedly leading the 'free world'.

I’ve already predicted this, and I’ll do it again: Jerome Powell will be the next Anthony Fauci. There will be cries of “Lock him up!” at Trump rallies in reference to him. He is set to become the next lightning rod. You heard it here first.

You have no idea whether they have done the right thing or committed no crimes and are innocent. Nobody does.

I'd like you to imagine what you would say if Donald Trump pardoned his son from any crimes and then preemptively pardoned a bunch of people that his political rival is accusing of committing a variety of crimes before leaving office. The calls around fascism, cronyism and dictatorship would be deafening.

But it's your side so I guess it's ok.

Yes, that' s my point.

I don't always respond to him, you know.
I'm with you on alms for the poor; attention to the MAGA accolite though, is altogether different. The former enriches the life of the downtrodden; the later, succors MAGA, and in the act of responding, helps amplify their lies. Better to ignore the MAGA faithful, than to respond, and in so doing, provide a platform for their mistruths.
