Douglas Luiz

Don't think he's the best option but he's a good player on the ball & moving forward, with experience at DM. I would say that any decent midfielder with energy, who can tackle, will immediately help mitigate the failings of our current midfield - helping them to play better.
But is he fit to start immediately, if not is ihe worth waiting gor until he's fit ??

Well he has plays parts in quite a few games now, since coming back from the injury. So maybe not in top top shape today, but certainly not far off and with a couple of games with us, he should be there...

There's a lot of clamour for Bruno G from some circles and I can't see where he hugely differs from Luis - a physical 6/8 who can pass the ball and would add a bit of energy. 26 is a great age too
Agree. We could also have done business with Newcastle last year when the price was reportedly more favourable. Indeed, their current form might yet see them climb into the top 4, so I'm less inclined than ever to believe that we'll be beating the path to his door. Some people just have a fixation with the more expensive players, but I would imagine if we are going to spend big again in the summer, it will be on a more creative type.

Bruno G is leagues above Luiz when it comes to duels. Luiz got carried very heavily off the ball by Kamara although on the ball there isn't much difference

Did you not say repeatedly over and over again that we would not sign anyone -:)
Availbility is the issue. The two defenders were the easiest of our transfers. Marmoush was the most difficult and the one where we had to pay over the odds.

IMO....we need a deffo fully fit, conditioned, starter who has the ability and personality to drive us forward, not just fill a gap.

Is Nico not worth our confidence in a double(ish) pivot ...fast, technical, rangy, good reader & tackler, ambitious with lots to prove & gain.

Eventually......Still not needed. Defence is the major issue not scoring goals.

Defence is a major problem with high quality defenders constantly injured.

We won’t be signing a Rodri replacement.

We may yet go for a versatile midfielder or a player who can play multiple positions.

Not sure what game you watch but it seems back to front just like your posts.

one of our greatest signings cost £55k and a few years later another great signing and true leader cost £6 million.

You are correct, dont need to splash the cash just for cost value discussions

I agree, but sadly, that's not our style. Even with a fully fit defence to play in front of, it wouldn't happen.

Still didn't Need Marmoush either and your posts aren't much better either. Though!

not yet from the comments by Pep. Doesnt seem to have the confidence in himself as a defensive mid (yet).

Kamara missed an enormous amount of time through injury though… almost the whole 23/4 season
