Neither could Vinny but we kept him on our books and even had another an extension on the table. He decided to end his City career.

To reiterate, Stones has played 90 minutes in the last 2 months - his injury history is pretty poor so shouldn't ever have been seriously counted when talking about getting defensive replacements in January.

No different to Kompany's.

Do you remember how not proactively bringing in Kompany’s replacement completely fucked us when he retired and left us playing Fernandinho at the back and essentially surrendering the title in 2019/20?

We had Laporte injured too playing through injury a couple of seasons later.

Funny thing is, we tried the same thing again—playing Rodri for 60+ games a season with no rest and no backup. And now, look how f****d our season is. Sure, we’re trying to salvage what’s left by acting now, but all of this could have been avoided. We could’ve been on our way to 5 in a row, comfortably sitting at the top of both the EPL and UCL tables
