It’s like Dogecoin. Everything has the value of what anyone is willing to pay for it. If a sufficient number of people attribute a value to it, then it can be used to purchase physical items.

I know it sounds mental, but in reality it’s not much different to a piece of paper with old Chucky on it saying “I promise to pay the bearer…”on it. It’s a pinky promise, not like using precious metals which is where currency started. It’s now pretty much all 1s and 0s in the digital ether as physical currency gets used less and less.

It’s not surprising that the rich like physical assets is it.

You rugpull. It's easy and Trump's already done it.

You establish a memecoin (a crypto thing, like Bitcoin) where you own 80% of the stock. You promote it so people buy it hoping go make a profit. And many do. People see the price shooting up and up so buy more and more until the guy with 80% dumps it and cashes out millions. Then the price goes down to 0 because there was never anything behind it to establish value.

It's one big tulip market, or better described, a game of musical chairs. Everybody knows what is happening here but the trick is to get in and get out with decent gains. That's why people put money into these things, they're not stupid, they're greedy. Don't be the one holding the bag when the music stops (I.e. when the 80% guy dumps the coin) and the value is now zero. And no-one ever believes they'll be the one without the chair.
 
I've never really considered the US to be forward thinking or pioneers of anything. The fact that segregation was still in place in the 1960s is abhorrent and highlights just how backwards the place has always been (yet you'll still hear folk say places like the middle east are centuries behind the rest of the world).

I can't see much hope for anything to change positively over there. They've already gone full Ministry of Truth. Maybe the sheep will wake up and realise they've voted in the wolves, but I reckon they're all fucked now.
 
I thought that - according to RFK who wants to run health - all vaccines were useless and didn't work? Can this be made to make sense?

Steven Miller works in the Records Department of the Ministry of Trump, where his job is to rewrite historical documents so they match the constantly changing current Trump utterances. This involves revising website articles and doctoring records — mostly to remove "unpersons", people who have fallen afoul of the Donald.

The next step maybe from the Putin Playbook - changes to the constitution that will allow another term. Putin changed the term length from 4 to 6 years and used this to justify ignoring his previous "shortened" terms in limiting to 2 terms. I can see Trump doing similar under the banner of 4-year terms being too short to be fully effective and costly inviting excessive contribution and influence from financial backers (as he has enjoyed).

Then maybe one from Adolf's playbook, how long before oaths of allegiance will be to some form of Trumpism rather than to the Constitution?

While Trump controls the Senate, Congress and Supreme Court, there's no stopping him. The only hope is that next mid-term elections can change that. Unfortunately, all the sources of public communication are owned and run by the US oligarchy.
