Is anyone able to explain the signings we’re making this window based on the issues we have?

It’s pretty much in line with the last few windows… complacent, negligent and clearly failing to address the position we need someone in most.

As good as the signings may prove they will change nothing this season without a midfielder coming in with them. If we fail to make top 4 it’s going to make it even harder to get the quality in the summer.

He played 3 positions in one half of football for a team that cannot cope in the formation they’re being asked to play in using tactics they’re not capable of using. Crazy to single him out. He didn’t have a great game but how could he settle in that.

Lewis is out of his depth in a puddle.

Looked fabulous when he was surrounded by strong quality players..... he is totally exposed in this team and cannot add any value. He needs to be carried but cannot carry the team in any way at all.

Pondering on the midfield situation. Perhaps we can’t identify a suitable, available and affordable target this window. The club, mindful of recent expensive mistakes, are content to let this season go and go big in summer. Annoying, but plausible view of the situation?

You're probably right, but if we don't buy a midfielder that probably will be the difference between 4/5th and 9/10th In the league.

If I have to watch Bernardo wave his foot into a weak as piss challenge again it will be one too many. We literally have zero midfield presence and that will just continue to happen against any half decent sides.

God help us on Saturday against Chelsea’s young midfield.

He's checked out...this is a player that almost burst his lungs vs the dippers in 18/19.

Trust me if Bernie is unbothered and pulling out of 50-50s this team is cooked, finito, toast!

Has been for a while. Too weak and offers virtually no goals or assists.

We need a powerhouse in midfield.

I said this last week and got blasted. Bernie is still fabulous technically, but it feels there’s been a shift in football recently and being mint on the ball just isn’t enough anymore without physicality. We’ve just been too slow to react. Pardon the pun.

IMO anyway.

There was a blatant yellow card in the first half that he didn’t give. I also thought one or two fouls in the second half by PSG were worthy of yellow. That said PSG were well worth their win.

Of course we do. It's the champions league, otherwise what's the point in it all domestically?

3 new signings already raring to go, hopefully more to follow.

The midfield needs addressed, but we should still be up for the fight.

why? I consistently see players get pelters on here, often ones that have previously done great things and things like age are holding them back.

I just don’t buy into pretending a player is something he is not because he’s a local lad from the academy.

He’s clearly horrifically out of his depth playing here.

It might help if he is played in his best position instead of having to fill in all over the park. We have a young lad here that is actiully one of the few to show fight and bite with a bit of leadership thrown in and fans are pillorying him.
