There's no point lambasting the electorate one has, which is what you did, you have to fashion a more compelling message which addresses their real concerns, expose the snake oil shit that Trump sells. I posted earlier about a bit of introspection, I would suggest that's the first thing the American left should engage in. All I see so far is a purity contest on the fringes and as you were from the Democrat gerontocracy.

In the end figures like Trump need defeating at the ballot box, denigrating his supporters get you precisely nowhere.

She did her job effectively. Oh yes, that's right, she also put a few noses out of joint by tackling misogynistic and inappropriate behaviour within the service which some dinosaurs thought was too 'woke', whatever the fuck that means. It really is pathetic in this day and age.

You think people play the 'hate card' on purpose? Why would anyone do that in this day and age?

If someone is crap at their job, document it objectively and act accordingly. If your having to make up some false narrative in order to effect an agenda against someone because you don't like them for 'reasons', then it's prejudice whether you like it or not.

It speaks volumes about what an utterly malign **** he is that his instinct is to sowing further discontent and division into what is plainly a hugely divided society. I fear this is going to get very ugly.

Yeah I agree, I think the fact that the media appears terrified of him as well at the momentspeaks volumes and the fact he was able to 'demand' an apology from a bishop for the most milk toast pleads for mercy.

A lot of people aren't going to put up with this for 4 years imo.

Which will itself inflame his cult and the whole thing will continue to escalate.

I stridently predict, at the very least, gun related murderers and mass shootings will continue to inexorably and significantly rise, partly fuelled by this escalation in political tensions. I simply cannot see how they will not.

Yeah I mean he claims he has a 'mandate' but at least 50% of the country don't want him. Yet he's pushing on with absurd divisive policy. If he goes ahead with his plan to rip long term immigrants out of communities en masse.....

It will boil over.

It’s actually a sign of his narcissism that he thinks that getting to vote of 51% of the electorate is an overwhelming mandate and gives him carte blanche to completely ignore the 49%. I don’t mean in terms of policy, which is the way it is, but in terms of rhetoric and actions that aren’t about policy, but rather grace and favour and sowing further division, which he plainly thrives on.

I could go in about buyer’s remorse but the signs were there for all to see, so no one can say they weren’t warned as they absolutely were.

He certainly seems to have no interest in calming things down - the insults that fly, such as his latest Hannity, and just going to provoke more idiots who will then expect a pardon.

There is absolutely nothing that any person with critical thinking skills can be remotely surprised about. It’s actually a perfect storm. Lost the 2020 election, tried to cause an associated insurrection, was charged for it, with loads of other charges pending, convicted of another offence, subject to an assassination attempt during an election which he fortuitously (for him) survives, wins the election with the popular vote, all charges dropped and a discharge for the conviction.

By any objective measure it’s an incredible turnaround and can only fuel his worst characteristics. How could it not?

He will think he’s invincible, untouchable and the rules simply don’t apply to him. How could he not?

And he’s been enabled by the American people. They have literally chosen to increase the divisions in their society.

I'd like to argue some of it, but can't think of grounds to do so.

It’s completely depressing, especially because it’s founded on a conscious decision by the American people. The signs were there and they proceeded anyway.

At least their eggs are cheaper, I guess.

Not sure it would simmer out and you don’t know who would come to take his place and how vengeful they would be. The underlying issue isn’t going to disappear if he’s assassinated, especially as he’ll be a martyr.

I would expect that the Vance-led response would be nightmarish, and that the crazies would be straight out shooting. Every Democrat politician would need serious protection.
